Citation needed. Harassment implies an extended campaign of abuses, but even then there are strict legal precedents you have to jump through to prove that someone has purposely been pursuing you with the intent to continually disrupt your private life. Also, I never mentioned harassment in anything I've said before. I'd prefer it if you didn't try to put words in my mouth, or at least if you did, to better clarify them first. I'm extending every civility in this discussion, I would appreciate it if you would treat me with the same genuine care.
I have never attempted to dictate forum policy, only express my opinions on this topic in as clear an fair a manner as I can.

I have treated you with all the good will I can muster good sir.
My mistake on the harrassment part, for some reason it was substituted for abuse in my mind's eye. Regardless, abuse is still very much illegal and so my comment is still correct.
I find it very hypocritical that you demand a citation that intimidation and harrassment are illegal (My mistake for assuming everyone knew that I suppose) when you did not provide one for how they are protected under the right of freedom of speech. My assumption for you not providing said citation for your argument is that it doesn't exist
As for a citation for my argument, Article 19 of the International Covenant of Civil Rights states: "[e]veryone shall have the right to hold opinions without interference" and "everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of his choice". Article 19 goes on to say that the exercise of these rights carries "special duties and responsibilities" and may "therefore be subject to certain restrictions" when necessary "[f]or respect of the rights or reputation of others". This means that if you assault, abuse, slander or attempt to violate another's rights whether physically, verbally or in another form, you are subject to the penalty of the laws regarding those offences.
I say this with as much respect as I can: You lack understanding of human rights and end up using your flawed definitions of said rights to justify the slander and silenceing of those you disagree with. As I said before, you can say that you don't like furries or their lifestyle but you can in no way harrass, intimidate, slander, abuse, or assault (physically or verbally) them. Hopefully you have now achieved a greater understanding of the wonderful rights and freedoms we possess and we can all benefit.
I wish you luck in all your future endeavours.

I haven't had much time to explore the forums, and unfortunately this thread popped up in the "hot topics" bar when I finally had some free time to explore the forums. I may not be a vetted everyday user of these forums, and have yet to purchase a founder's pack, but I'm just as entitled to express my opinion that I don't think this is the proper place to discuss the furry fandom as you are to believe it is.
If you'd like to try and make fun of me personally in a thread where I've done nothing but comment solely on my own opinion of the presence of a social movement in the forums, without having once resorted to name-calling anyone specifically please do so. You are, frankly, only making me look better.

I guess that would explain the difference in our interpretation of personal freedom's. Another excerpt from that article:
"The United States has made reservations that none of the articles should restrict the right offree speech and association".
If you're posting from another country I apologize for the misunderstanding, and I do not by any means issue that the US is the greatest country on earth and all others are inferior, etc. etc., but my understanding of free speech is based on our legislation and, since I'm currently sitting somewhere inside the country typing this, in practice I follow those rules. Nowhere within will you find a sound argument that I'm not allowed to say essentially anything I want in regards to my opinions on the furry fandom, or even someone personally, with some minor restrictions involving publishing and advertising. Remember that the burden of truth is on the accuser, so if you believe that I'm somehow breaking a free speech law by stating that I don't think furry discussion belongs here and should be removed, please explain how that qualifies as an infringement.
In the meantime I'll re-iterate that allowing a point of view to be represented without also welcoming its detractors is at best biased and at worst forcefully representative of the entire community here. Simply put, someone has to speak up and say they don't welcome you here otherwise it can be assumed that everyone here condones and endorses being a furry, which we certainly don't.
