"The district court properly granted summary judgment because Malcomson failed to raise a genuine dispute of material fact as to whether his periodic written contributions to a small portion of a popular science fiction gaming franchise satisfied the test for joint ownership of the entire work. See Aalmuhammed, 202 F.3d at 1234 (listing factors to determine whether a work is jointly authored in the absence of a contract for purposes of a copyright claim of joint ownership)."

....so this topic is actually about the fetish for wearing costumes that mimic stuffed animals, etc? Hey, to each their own...I was just making sure it wasn't some kind of battletech slang I was unfamiliar with. But...what are "ponys"? Is this another fetish about being ridden like a horse or something? Please enlighten.

Hmm. Hmmmmm. HMMMMMMM.

Close, but no cigar. ;D

You guys are just butthurt that someone managed to get something made canon that you don't like. And yet here you all are with signatures of Far Country.

This is all I hear you guys saying:

I once doodled a robot blowing up another robot, and you can't prove that somebody from FASA didn't see it. Pretty sure I own all Mechwarriors

if only the world was this sexy

Well first off to correct your first point Furry is more an Obession/hobbie relating to humanising animals to better relate to them.

as for the pony it's a little more specfic like a cross between a Anime and furry here their fourm page
http://mwomercs.com/...-there-be-pony/
both have their NSFW sides both have their SFW sides of course it involves animals and as such is worldy considerd weird to those on the outside leading to alot of misconception such as it all about Love Making.

No, you are being blind. He is claiming he owns ALL of the Battletech franchise because he wrote something that became a part of it. Hence why he LOST the court case. He had no grounds to claim he deserved the rights to the ENTIRE BATTLETECH FRANCHISE.

I recommend you read the court case brief and judgement. Then you can talk about 'who is being butthurt'

No, he's saying that the court decided that he was a co-owner of the Battletech franchise, but he just wanted for his character to be canon (which it was, until some jerkwad moderator decided he hated furries more than he liked doing what he was told).

Doesn't matter if he wanted his character to be canon, that isn't what he sued for. He sued to gain rights to Battletech.

He is the one being butthurt, because he didn't get what he wanted. Like a child throwing a tantrum because he didn't get the toy he saw in the store.

Fursuiting is not a fetish, it's an interest and hobby for most of those who do it. It only turns into a fetish when people start getting off to it. Sadly that is true for a small portion of those who partake in the furry fandom.

Pony Fandom is a bunch of grown men who enjoy a T.V. show meant for little girls because they find it funny and intriguing. Now being a furry I shouldn't be the one bashing, but hey, I just did.

Oh, come on. It's not freaking fursecution here. They didn't find out the whole story behind the name and character until later. It's not like "Roy Calbeck" screams "HEY, I'M AN ANTHROMORPHIC UNICORN GUY!".

So, you are saying he is not impartial (as he should be) but will show favourism? Yea, well, that comes from using amateurs as mods...

Pssst. Your mech seems to have the wrong colour scheme. And the wrong insignia. And your fursona there's wearing the wrong uniform, too.

Pssh. If you don't think the creators gleefully drop in stuff to put it on an grown-adult level ala Animaniacs, you're missing a lot. Not to mention the "little girl" who happened to have me sit down to watch the first season with is actually my 30something girlfriend. ;)

Furry fandom is a lot like many other kinds of sci-fi fandom. You have the people who enjoy reading stuff like TMNT all the way over to the ones who are so far in they do things in fursuits that make grown men squick, a lot like the difference between sitting there watching Star Trek and attempting to Live Live The Klingon Way. There's a lot in between, it's bad to lump the mellow in with the over-obsessive-hardcore types. Trekker vs. Trekkie. The guy who bought a few Trek movies on DVD vs. the one that stalks George Takei and wants to make a diamond ring out of Doohan's ashes to pass on to his offspring (cause yes, stupid people are breeding).

Can't disagree with anything you've said. We all love the adult humor that pops up in kids shows.
