lol, I guess its a fact of life that some people are gonna be cheap. Nothing wrong with that I guess to some extent..
I just spent about 40$ real money for a nice set of implants in EVE yesterday, hopefully I dont get podded somehow and lose them

Would you give us an idea what those implants provide you in game? Tactical or synergetic bonus. We assume an advantage, versus bonus, is not included?

They enhance your personal attributes (there are 5), like for example intelligence is one. Also provide secondary effects depending on the type of implant, they are like bonuses. The ones I bought provide armor bonuses. Thing is if you get killed, you lose the implants. So its basically your own risk.
Anyways, if your skills are bad its much more of an issue. New/bad players shouldnt just be able to buy the best equipment and be good. EVE is not really player skill though, skills are all about automated training and waiting time. I sure hope MWO is far more about player skill than waiting for skills to train or something like that. I would much rather throw in money to that sort of game rather than EVE.

However, I personally think that monetary purchases should be reserved for unique load outs rather than full on chassis (short of very rare/unique ones). For instance, a fire javelin could be purchasable through online transactions. Either way, it is a very hard company decision as a F2P game absolutely needs to build itself a decent market somehow.

I doubt we would see actual mechs as DLC and IF they actually did go this route I would say that they would be "different" but not "better" than what is included in the regular game garage.
Just my thoughts!

Tentatively I'm ok with P4F as I fully intend to support the game I'm enjoying. Having said that, the first and last P4F game I played caused me to ultimately quit on principle, and I never returned to it. It was a Bigpoint game, and I don't plan to give them another cent of money so long as I draw breath.
- The first issue (though not the one that made me perma-ragequit) is that not only did you pay to keep your tech up with the jonses, but on average, if you wished to do so you ultimately would spend far more than you otherwise would have while playing a subscription MMO. I know folks who had dumped hundreds of dollars into the game over just 6 months time, and they still weren't top dogs. The P4F often turns out to be, as I heard someone else say, a situation where 10% pay for the other 90%.
- The issue that got me truly riled however was that they would make changes to the game, critically nerfing equipment you likely paid money for, and then they would not allow the player to reallocate the expenditure to something else. In my case, I literally has JUST purchased $50 worth of ingame money to buy gear with. I sup up my weapons and with the very next patch, bam, the gear I just upgraded is no longer all that good. Bigpoint just expected you to suck it up.
I will never play another game from them. Ever. I got off easy truth be told. I only spent a total of $63 before I got out.

Has NO ONE considered the rather successful F2P game that is League of Legends?
The WoT comparisons seem to be spawning from only two points:
1) It's currently popular
2) Tanks and 'Mechs naturally go well together in the mind.
Maybe we should take a look at LoL's way of doing things and see everything its developers are doing right, like how it's nowhere near P2W yet still taking in some cash.

That trailer few years back looked Kick ***. Now its a P2W game. Should of been a retail game for $49.99 I would of Bought it Day One Via Pre Order on Steam...
In light of the level of blatant ignorance you are showing, on top of the fact you did NOTHING to fix said ignorance and thus have fallen into stupidity. I have only one thing to say.
/Facepalm.
Belial, yes people have pointed that out. Multiple times. These forums seem to be limited to the extremists. As such people with semi well thought out opinion are pushed aside.

Alrighty, I did read to make sure I wasn't skipping it but apparently it has been buried in the WoT mess. I'll leave this be then, and find greener pastures...

The F2P scheme from the MWO devs has been laid out in the FAQS, Announcements and Dev Blogs.
Thank you for your interests in MWO.
