definitely mech customization to taste! nothing that affects gameplay mechanics. the field should be even on that. so here's a list of e.g.'s:

- custom paint job, around $5 depending
- cockpit hula girl, dinosaurs, fuzzy dice, ... $1 each, maybe $2 for the hula girl ;)
- some extra antennae sticking out of my command mech $4
- minor variations in loadout. i.e. have a gun mounted elsewhere, replaced with something comparable, nothing you would get for advantage, just individualization. $3

so that's around 15 dollars i'd happily spend over the course of the first weeks. obviously every mech chassis would need a bit.

I'd pay for a sticker which says:

"I shot Paul in the lower leg actuator with my Arrow IV missiles."

Even though it's not true ... yet ;)

Also, I'd pay for a commentry by Duncan Fisher of how well/badly I'm doing at any given time.

"Man, Spectre's got some good eyes. He's certainly nailing his shots tonight! Three down just because they've been in his crosshairs, which is a very dangerous place to be."

"I like that guy's style. He came out punching until his 'mech went POW! Heck, I bet he's still trying to fire at the other guy."

I love Duncan's commentry on solaris, only reason I keep going back.

Eh, Dev's have more or less promised that equipment will be purchased with in game currency and available to everyone. It's not a good idea to have things that effect game play be otherwise because it becomes pay2win and ruins the game.

That Being said, customization I'll pay for, xp boosts and c-bill packs. Paint jobs and cockpit customization too probably.

The topic is askin' ME what I would pay for.

Plus, the difference between "promising" and "doing" can be quite large...

I'd be willing to pay for just about anything cosmetic. Assuming they make something I like. Be happy to pay for the ability to upload a personal or unit emblem. You know something under a mech so if you had to download like 20 ever match you played it wouldnt be that big a deal. And Id pay to keep it in too.

Also think a reasonable thing to pay for would be the ability to create specialized groups. Units or whatever.

I would also be willing the pay them NOT to sell win. I that most of all is something Id be happy to pay for.

Maybe merc unit, and house unit [once implemented] colours (custom paint jobs) would be something that would a reason to spend money. I'd love to pilot my mech with my unit colours visible for all to see, in case there was any doubt whom they were fighting. [Or whom they just murdered in my case. ;) ] Although generic paint jobs should be free.

Nothing that effects game play.
I do want to be able to put my own unit emblem on my mechs with appropriate company colors. I'd pay for the skins.
Please don't make this pay to win.
It needs to be Battletech. "Gold" AC 20 ammo that does 25 points of damage isn't available. Gunnery skill should decide how much damage that shell causes. Plus any tech not in time frame, MRMs and the like would be out until their "Discovery."
I think this should include anything prior to 3050, but lostech mechs should be rare. Purchasable? Well, maybe. I don't see the balance being thrown off if someone walks up in a Thug. ComStar may have something to say about that tho.

I'd pay for different historical builds of a mech, ala a '66 mustang vs a 2012 model. No functional difference, but a different visual style.

I have seen alot of discussion about what people don't want to pay for. I am curious what people want to pay for. After all even if PGI are just trying to break even they have to sell something, and that something has to be worth while.

I love you but... you just wrote:

"I read a bunch of other threads about what people want to pay for and not pay for, so I didn't post in there, I made a new thread about the same thing."

More clutter in here!

This is a bad idea imo...it is the EXACT model of World of Tanks (which imo handled what you paid for poorly)
to show you how similar it is to WoT i will show you:
-Premium Account in Wot (double XP / Credits Per Battle) <----which was so annyoing, because those who paid advanced SO MUCH FASTER and immediately there was a huge gap between those who paid and those who played ;)
-New Tanks (for example, I had a T-44, the second best Russian Medium Tank, it was EARNED, and there are those wallet warriors who buy a Chinese Type 59 and OWN me and all other T-44s EVERY TIME and it's supposedly the same tier as me? Doesn't make sense at all.)
-"Certain Limited Mechs" this is similar to new tanks that are in WoT
-this is fine for me, I can live with this one ;D
NOTE: This info is all from experience, I played WoT when it was in Beta and only stopped after they came out with the French because I was fed up with their lack of Game Modes! i got so tired of just blowing up tanks and being blown up by invisible ones!

I think we'll be able to trade cash for C-Bills. This doesn't allow the payer anything that isn't available to someone else through gameplay, but does allow them to play how they want, when they want.

Game starts, I drop $20 and get my Atlas and can pay repairs to keep him on the field through several matches.
