Cages to keep the other pilots in when I shred their mech and chase them across the battle field as they run like a chicken with their head chopped off in fear? Ok, yeah, anyway.

Customs are cool, but honestly without the "disadvantage" factor its hard for them to come up with stuff. Seriously I have seen too many games where the person with cash was the one with everything. Even games where selling IGC is against the EULA, people buy with cash.

As for in cockpit, come on, what pilot wouldn't want to be able to turn his head just before he went into battle and BAM there is a pic his sweety waiting for him to get back and have hot sweaty stinky, yeah anyway. Could be any uploaded JPEG, simple.

Laser color would be cool, but laser color should be the type of laser. IE a green laser would be a different type (argon) vs a red might be a (boron), who knows. Its a game, put down reality.

I would pay for additional mechbays for sure. Not sure if I want like a $10 one time fee or a $1 monthly "rental" model though.

Taking inspiration from DOTA2, tournament play. Players pay a small fee ($5 or so) to enter into 1v1 tournaments, or big teams pay a larger fee ($50?) to enter into team tournaments, with elimination style gameplay until one side emerges victorious. The winner would get a C-Bill payout, and the glory of being able to claim they won Super Mech Smashfest '51 or whatever. It also links in a bit with the Solaris ideas.

So, I play League of Legends. Their model is perfect as far as I'm concerned. There is nothing that increases performance that you can buy with real currency. There are champions (so different mechs) that you can buy with either, and then there are purely cosmetic changes (skins) and xp/in-game currency boosts so you can earn it faster, but you still have to play the game like everyone else.

Works well AND makes Riot a ton of money!

If I want to build a 3025 legal laser boat, let me spend my money to build it.

Regarding the soundtrack, my idea would be that à la GTA4 they could integrate a "Mech-Radio", something individual to make your battle abit more, well rocking?^^
haha all I can imagine is, hearing Back in black and run around and shoot my 40 Lrm's via Catapult. that would be awesome!

think i pay nothing to begin because it is called f2p and not free to be paid. I hope you can buy anything in the game by bying with ingame c-bills or whatever resource they come up with for online gaming in the "gameworld". The extras are also bought by 'offworld' cash like extra paintjobs (skins),extra slots. Dont know with how many slots you start in the game. It is a slot per mech or a slot per 'character' and is in that slot per characters to have multiple mechs

Remember this is a 'business' for the team at Piranha

I personally think that 'Premium Mechs' in the store should be available. The only advantage these mechs should have over standard ones is the ability to earn xp and credits faster.

It is not pay to win. It does not give mechanical advantage on the battlefield - like premium ammunition would.

I personally cannot afford one of the founders packages right now :D but would definitely buy a premium mech in the future

All my money for two plush dice hanging from the top of my cockpit, dangling around as my mech gets hit. ALL OF IT!

(not for me, but) XP and credit boosts for late comers, say in a couple of years - gotta help the newbs;)
Clan ID stuff,. decals and paint jobs, although it would be nice if we could add our own decals and skins for nothing.
Clan headquaters!
I like the idea of personalised interiors, fluffy dice guy made me laff. How about those smelly tree's?
A SP campaign sometime down the track (just redo Ghost Bear with this engine)
Special Elite competion levels, for when the meta-game gets rolling. Or even a yearly championship with trophys and stuff (like money, sponsorship, beastly PC rigs done up to look like a mech... with legs...)
Real World figurines and clan/faction shirts (someone already has mentioned mech-merch)
Hats (JK)

Let's see. I would buy a reshaping of an existing chassis (without changing it's performance of course), a personal faction (probably need to crank the price up on that one, though), I would certainly like to alter the rendering of my weapons fire, like maybe the color of lasers or the pulse pattern (again without changing performance). I would also pay for the right to have a specific mp3 playing on the enemy's PC when they are engaging my team, dont know how feasible that is. maybe a sexy version of the mech status voice.

I would be happy to pay for decals / paint jobs etc.

One concern with the original posts implementation though would be people uploading the same decal over and over? e.g. a clan might want a special one, and send through the same decal 10 times.

Perhaps having an already existing catalogue to choose from would eliminate that, $2 per decal. However $5 to upload a custom one?.

edit: soz I just realized theres 43 pages I didn't read!! Thought this was a 3 page thread :)

I think if there are different missions based on player rank that could help. For instance if the game turns into Pay 2 Win make it so those people willing to pay are competing with others like them. If you want to just play free you can but the in game rewards are less so it takes you longer to get the same items as people willing to lay down cash. This would normally suck for broke folk, but since you won't be in matches against elitists you won't suffer as much. As an incentive to people to pay for things like weapon upgrades and such make them inexpensive and make some things only available to premium accounts. I would rather pay $1 for 10 weapons than 10$ for one weapon.
That's why I stopped playing War inc. I was going to buy credits and they incresed the cost of the weapons so much it would cost $30 US for one assault rifle. That's a tank of gas.

You could rank everyone in the game numerically and only certain subsets of those ranks could engage each other. Averaging the rank among the members of the lance will make it easier for a pug that gets stuck with a newbie to not be cored by a lance of elite pilots. Simply basing the rank on win loss record would be an easy way to get it going. Besides most of us want to know who the best is (so we know who to aim at) and were we stand in the ranks.

Don't add clan tech it's OP and I don't think it fits the timeline. Trust me I love clan tech. But that could be a good addition in a couple years (think expansion pack).

I dunno, I think custom decals could work if they were one of the more costly items and abuse resulted in loss of not only that money investment but also banning from the game.

DAFUQ!?!?!?!!? WHY would buying custom decals, which have no effect on the mechs gameplay/stats, other than looking nice, be a bannable offense? you need to lighten up, my freind.

BUT, there are masteries and runes, some of the most important early game boosts, and you can only get those by leveling, and there are XP boosts, also the community sucks balls when it comes to new players vs old ones.

Stuff "Most" will pay for.

premium acc ( more cbills and xp) for limited time ( this can be a very good income for you guys.)

premium mech ( it's not over power or what, but have a setup that you cant have for a nor mech)

more space to hold mechs.

Decals.

Props.

Stuff to make your mech more to your liking.

A mouthly pay to be in the REAL house. ( no house weapons or gear)

Reskins.

paint jobs.

Rare old mechs. ( even if they outdata in armor and firepower, some of us will love to have our old mechs we know and love. I still love my raven mech. <3)

Most that will hate to see.

Pay for elite weapons, gear, ect ect

Pay for Full repair ( BIG turn off)

Stuff that will give them more fire power, ect ect.

premium Ammo ( and why i add this here, because it GIVE more firepower that use RLM "real life money")

There needs to be more mech designs. I was looking forward to the Locust $5 or Behemoth $10. The availability to paint my own mech texture map would also be nice say $10. It doesn't really mater what the percieved advantage a mech gives you the skill necisary to fight well does. Skill cannot be bought. Anyway, thats my two cents worth.
