I would like to pay for the FULL GAME. Not like WoT 50€ one tank, 5€ another slot and so on. I just wanna spend for example 150-200$ and get one year premium + every single mech/item/special i have to buy with ingame currency in this year.

An other thing i would pay are special animations that everyone can see. For example that every mech i kill blows up in a very large explosion.

I know what I would pay for-Custom Mech Construction.

I imagine it won't be part of the initial full release, but I'd be willing to shell out a fair bit of cash to custom-craft a Mech from the ground up. I'm thinking you could base it off of the tabletop Battletech Techmanual/Strategic operations books for designing the construction process, then balance it out with current in-game mech designs as a basis for what components are available. If you limit the components to things that already exist in-game, there's no unfair advantage.

As for Clan tech, I don't know if the devs have some kind of leveling/ranking system planned, but if they do, I think putting a minimum level for buying clan tech, then allowing the option to buy access to it before you reach the minimum would be a good idea.

Course, my clan-tech option might go against their policy of "no wallet warriors", so take it with a grain of salt.

Generally for something that stays with me and is not expendable. Including:

Premium mechs - analogs or premium tanks in WoT, available only for MCs. But these shouldn't be just cosmetic variants with increased income like Founder's Mechs - I purposefully bought only Veteran Package to keep those abominations out of my mech bays. I'll be glad to see Star League designs, extinct in the Succesor States but still used by ComStar.

Additional Mech Bays.

Adaptive loadout (this is expansion of current WoT adaptive camo idea). The idea is simple: if I don't know what map am I dropping on, I can buy "loadout slots" for my particular mech and assign each loadout to one or more maps. Currently I have one loadout only. With two slots bought for MCs I can have three saved loadouts for one particular mech, and they would be applied automatically depending on map. Adaptive camos should be integrated in this mechanics too. So after I press Launch, I spawn with hotter loadout and snow camo on the Frozen City or less heat-dependent loadout and desert camo on the Caustic Valley. But perhaps that wouldn't be useful if in community warfare we will know what map we're going to encounter - if I'm fighting for the frozen planet, I don't think I should guess "what if we will drop on the Caustic Valley".

But I won't buy simple, non-adaptive "loadout slots" for MCs ( so I can have many loadouts saved but have to select them manually before the drop) - I'd better write them down in the notepad and tinker in the mechlab couple of minutes if I want to change from brawler to LRM bot for this match. For CBs... perhaps I'll buy.

If grind becomes an issue, I could invest in transition of mech XP to general XP, but that's less probable.

Another idea is to allow players to modify trial mechs for MCs (you pay some MCs and now you can modify one of your trial mechs or all of them for a week. After a week, they turn into pumpkin again. Some mechanics should be implemented so that player will get a refund for XLengines and expensive weapons he installed on them - perhaps if you "open" your trial mech, it should be "opened" stripped with default loadout disappearing, and when it becomes unmodifyable again, default loadout reappears and custom loadout it put to stock). Though I don't think I would use ever use it ( I never run trials, if only after mechs and CBs wipe), but here's idea.

... Pay For?
One-off payment for the game on DVD; and no more than $1 a month to have an online profile IF it is downloadable; don't want to lose a mech because my subscription lapses.
Agree: customising mech appearance and trash in the cab are superb ideas and have to be the way to go for Piranha to get income from the game.
Agree: paying for tech (clan tech?) will unbalance the game and limit who plays.

This game is free-to-play. They've already said that they aren't going to sell anything that gives a player an advantage, and I guess that means mechs and weapons. But these guys have to make money! So let's help them! Tell them what you WOULD buy. Please don't post here what you wouldn't buy here, so this can be an entirely positive thread for the devs to look at.

1) Custom Decals. Let's face it, people want custom decals. But nobody (few people) want to see some guy's... member painted onto a mech, or Naruto (not that I don't like it, mind), or something of the sort. The answer is surprisingly simple. Make it so that custom decals can be uploaded, but they have to be approved by a moderator first. So let me write out a little scenario of how it could work.
i) Select to upload/purchase a custom decal.
ii) Try to submit it. If it's the wrong filetype, wrong number of colors, wrong resolution, etc., it will be automatically rejected.
iii) Select a color for the alpha channel. Or use some build-in tool to overlay an opacity, or whatever.
iv) Pay $2.
v) A moderator will approve or disapprove the image. If the image is disapproved, he may give a suggestion on how it should be changed to for approval. Is the quality too lacking? Is it too close to something popular from another franchise? If the disapproved image is edited appropriately, upon the next upload no payment would be required.
vi) The custom decal can now be placed on any of your assets just like a normal decal.
vii) The alpha channel can be edited afterward, but nothing else.
viii) If the image needs to be updated, it can be for another $1 and another approval. The new version will replace all old versions.

2) Cockpit accessories. Me and Bitey were having a conversation in another MechWarrior game today, and he said his cockpit would be filled with trash if he were actually a mechwarrior. You know, empty bottles, candy wrappers, etc.. He said he'd love it if he had to dig through all the trash to find the eject lever, and he'd be willing to pay for it in MWO. I didn't know if he's gonna post in this topic, so I may as well throw it in here.
i) This could be combined with the previous suggestion to allow 3D-modeled objects to be used in your cockpit. They would never need to be uploaded to any other players because they're in a cockpit, so it wouldn't be a problem with bandwidth. MWO would just verify the file with what had been uploaded and approved (for maybe $4, since it's a bit more work to check the multiple textures, shapes, etc.) before each mission.

3) Music. MechWarrior II had a bonkers-awesome soundtrack. I want another one, but with longer tracks. Give a bunch of stock tunes, and as the musicians make more, make us pay for them if we want to hear them in-game. It could be set to automatically lower the volume when in-game voice is being used, or TS3, or something.

Come on, guys! Let's get creative for them. List things you want to or wouldn't mind paying for, not things you dread buying.

pay $2 how about you pay me for my hard work finding all the right info to get decals to work

should have a seperate game for free to play players and pay to play players

I'd pay to have speakers mounted on my Mechwarrior so that I could blast music whilst I was pwning and by that I mean dying horribly. It would be awesome :)

I think this is a very good idea ,
i would love it if my pilot could give the finger or other hand gestures , that would make my life xD

Different 'Mech computer voices (male/female, accents, tone etc.) would be awesome... that is, assuming they have them to begin with.

that would be an awesome idea , but when i played the beta there weren't any AI in the cockpit voices,
i really hope they fix that when it comes out

I'd pay to get different H.U.D elements (so long as they dont' give me an advantage). For example, I thought that the MW3 style display (with the little 3-D version of your mech) would be an awesome thing to include (although not everyone would want that).

I think they should charge to make clans and then charge for badges of said clan.

then maybe they should charge and host a clan sever one that you could gain access to other clans ( like a coomon room of all clans) and setup clan VS clan battle.

something i would charge for FYI must buy a ticket to fight in clan based battle..
this wouldnt help your mech but atlease you can say " My clan can scrap your clan. "

Hey but what do i know im just a Metal scrapper..

Some of the good ideas, just glancing through this:
Cockpit/AI voices
Camo/paint
Interior cockpit trinkets
Tournaments with actual MC buy-ins and prizes

Some of the bad ideas:
Changing the color of weapons; how else are we supposed to identify the kind of laser that's shooting at us?
Paying for custom playlists? What? Perhaps offer soundtracks from old MW games in the store, but a media player would either be a feature for everyone or it wouldn't.
Clan tech -- this is the definition of pay-to-win.

In the cash shop, I'd like to see... (all prices are examples and would, obviously, require fine-tuning)

Mech vouchers:
$4: any light mech; $5: any med mech; $6: any heavy mech; $8: any assault mech
These are already present in the game in the form of the Founders packages, so it wouldn't be difficult to implement. However, it's a bit redundant what with being able to buy mechs with MC.

Bundles
A mech bundle would be nice. Pay a certain amount and get a couple pre-determined mechs. A Founders' mech bundle would make a lot of sense, especially after the Founders packages are no longer available.

I think players would appreciate a Starter bundle coming available at release, as well, similar to the Founders packages.

Cosmetic Items
Skins have been mentioned a lot. They could be offered per mech (buy Woodland Camo 3 for the Commando) or globally (buy Woodland Camo 3 for all mechs). Skin bundles would also make a lot of sense; get all the Woodland Camo skins for a bit less than it would cost to buy each one individually. Camouflage, parade skins, rainbows with fluffy clouds, art deco, all kinds of different things. Limited-time offers, weekly sales, the works.

Custom paint should include team-colored variants. It's just a simple re-color so there isn't that much to it but if I buy a "Walking Keg" skin for my Urbanmech, I demand to see "Walking Keg" in red rather than a generic, flat red paint when I load into a team game. You know how MechWarrior 4 changed whatever paint you selected to a generic, flat team-colored paint? That was awful. Don't do that, especially if we're paying extra money to look pretty.

Badges & Decals
To this end, there should probably be a couple different places for these badges to display (a slot for a personal badge, a slot for a team/clan/guild badge, a slot for a House badge...). Some people like rainbow unicorns while others are going to want the same Davion logo they go a tattoo of back in '99. It'd make sense to sell certain themed badges individually and in discounted packs, like with skins. I do like the idea of being able to upload a custom badge, have it approved by a moderator, and implemented into the game, but I'd want other people to see it, too.

Rent-A-Server
I figured I would hate this in Battlefield 3 but it's actually a pretty cool feature, and it's a nice way to keep money coming in. Individuals effectively rent the rights to admin a server. You can set the map rotation, victory condition, whatever. One problem Battlefield ran into was that they stopped hosting vanilla servers and everyone who rented one set their games to last about two hours -- make sure to keep vanilla servers up!

Premium Clans/Guilds/Teams
I want to start by saying that you should be able to set up and maintain a basic clan for free. Expanded features may be worth paying for and I could see separating them into a couple different cost tiers.

Unique, custom badges have been suggested many times already. Each clan that registers and pays for premium should get their own custom unit badge (subject to moderation). Include one badge upload the first time a clan goes premium, and then maybe charge a small sum if they want to change it later.

Other possible benefits for clans that go premium:
20% C-bill bonus for all members in pre-made matches only.
Tournaments and a monthly ladder for premium clans with better rewards than freebie competitions.
Each premium clan gets its own rented server.
Each premium clan also gets a private channel in the MWO VoIP server (15 slots or so would make sense, with matches going up to 12v12 and a couple slots left for loafers).
Free tournament vouchers. If you are going to run tournaments that require some sort of buy-in, I think both individuals and clan members who are paying for premium status should get in for free.

Sales, Discounts and Promotions!
Because they're fun and get people to buy something when maybe they normally wouldn't.

Another thing, mentioned in another topic, would be the ability to pay to put a custom "ad" on a billboard, that would appear in matches you played in. Obviously have to restrict it (No personal attacks, no giant phallic objects, etc.), and the volume of billboards that they might get could make it so you have a near-zero chance of it appearing in matches you aren't in, but it would be awesome to have a billboard advertising your, well, awesomeness. So you can get blown to smitheroons below it

how about a statute with your name on it.....in a battleground city map...

how about pay for play on SOLARIS???

i would love and be willing to pay for external and internal cosmetics, like red reflective window tint to go on the cockpit visor, fluffy dice to hang from the inside of the cockpit and maybe even colored LED's to go in the cockpit, that would be awesome :) On top of that, i think allot of the community, (myself included) would love to be able to purchase custom paint jobs or even full length decals. A side not to that, the ability to upload an image and paste it on the body of your mech for a set mc price would look wonderful, the ability to show your true clan colors and tags!.

If free to play is what this game is based on, then thats how it should be. BUT if their are accessories that give those who pay for advaned items an advantage over those who cant afford/cannot in general, than whatever is to be purchased should be limited to none stat boosting material. Otherwise un-paying members will become angry and play less/ stop playing resulting in loss of funds, publicity, and over all good word of the game.

I would gladly pay for:

- Videomessage taunts I can send to the enemy, like me giving the finger.
- Pilot/Mech customization and meet up in hangar etc.
- Computer voice overs
- Clan quarters; stations
- Cockpit stuff; as well as hud changes (3d)

but nothing really that changes the gameplay experience.

Im not sure if this has been Said allready here but my suggestion would be The option For a Clan / Team be able to pay $3 each PP (Per Player) for exclusive Clan options and benifits only on purchase thus making the more Dedicated Gamers out there are allowed to show there Custom Clan logos they have made for themselvs and be able to be put on certain parts of there mechs and or Custom banners ie Flags / Drape banners hanging from the rear of the mech/s

This idea might be something similar to others in this thread but i see it as The game has potential why not make it able to have the compitition Team work ability with Ladders and Teams go head to head for either capture the flag or 1 life Team Death match or hold youre fort longer than they can hold there fort ie one attacks other defends next round switch around BO3 (Best of 3 )

Plus i would so pay for Pre made Finishing moves and or custom Finishing moves would be funny to see a mech do a battle cry or a moon walk lol at the end of a mission or a match / Clan match that they have won or something

;)

I would pay to put a kill count on my name during battles so when I was targeted it came up with mechname and kill count. perhaps mechname would be free but kill count I would pay for. I thought it would be understood but upon reviewing the post let me amend it so that my mechname and kill count would show up in place of my name to all opponents. including waiting for player list and countdown list.
