User created decals.

This can't happen. Each one would have to be reviewed, or we'd have hundreds (or more) mechs running around with genitals on them.

I really want them too, but I can't forsee it ever happening.

Throwing my vote in for plaid camo, mostly for highlanders, but in general would be fine too.

Too bad.

It's funny you think that when i can go into the game and type something that would be way worse than anything you could put on a decal. It would just have to be reported, along with everything else in the game.

I will pay for the ability to buy and sell mech between players. PGI can charge a small transaction fee in MC, and the transaction will still be in c-bills between the players, but instead of me having to grind out enough c-bills to buy my next mech, I can buy it "pre-owned" at the price I get by selling a mech now, plus a little MC.

Think about it. If I sell one of my mechs now to free up a mech bay, I sell it and it's GONE. Ceases to exist. Wouldn't be better if I can sell one of my mechs to a friend who's just started play already configured so he can take advantage of my already tried and true loadout?

How much would it cost me to drive a Thunderbolt adorned with the AC/DC logo blaring "Thunderstruck" with a pair of fuzzy dice hanging off the rear-view screen?

My suggestion on cash shop items: Clan tech.

are you stupid or just like p2win games?

In a normal f2p environment, I look at what I get for dropping around 60$. If I find it lacking, no money. If I find it to be reasonable (not overpriced, no p2w) I'll drop around $10-$15 a month for cosmetic stuff, and/or premium time for the duration of my time playing the game.

Right now, there is not one thing I will pay PGI for. But I also swore to not pay them one red cent until the game was launched and completed. They don't get money for incomplete work.

I'd pay $2.50 to $5.00 for specialty paints (Metallic, Pearlescent, etc), but I'm not about to pay that much for standard paints like they are now. I'm willing to spend money on them, just nowhere near that much for basic colours (they are all basic colours, there's nothing special about the current range).

Hero UrbanMech. And while I don't think it would be sane, I would buy it before I gave a Death's Knell or Pretty Baby or Heavy Metal a sniff.

And here's the thing.... "useless" or not... there are thousands of others just like me that would eat it up.

Lets look at the basic model here....

This game currently has about 400k players...the "tin foil hat" mech heads. The mech heads..like me ...are just thankful that we can play ANYTHING mecha...

400K players does not a game make..... you literally need MILLIONS of paying players...that's that dirty "unwashed" uninitiated for all you tin foil mech heads....the casual player who is willing to pay a small fee for a high quality game....

You see children...PGI has to support their business....and they have a rather AGGRESSIVe economic model in this game that is specifically designed around soaking the fanatic mech head base of this game for beaucoup dollars. To basically compete...to have a stable of mechs...to play at the level of ALL other Mech Warrior and mecha games...you are literally forced...by this economic model to contribute a hundred dollars or much more to buy those hero mechs...and those mech bays...and etc...and etc.

To "work" this game MUST appeal to a huge multimillion player game base....and this stuff is NOT rocket science...it has been pioneered and is done perfectly by a wide variety of existing games... First you find a quality market release source...say STEAM...which specializes in INDY games like MWO. you cut a deal with STEAM or another series of sources...so that you have a $30-50 dollar basic module....and you make MWO much much more user friendly...

The first thing you do is to DROP the current mickey mouse grinding system...Make a wide range of mechs available to the player....with a huge range of equipment options...you have the player grind to gain special better equipment for those mechs....

After that initial release fee...then you have a couple of options....you can go with a monthly fee like WOW...Warhammer and other MMP's....but that right now is the exception rather than the rule...most currently successful MMP's are CHEAP...because they spread the cost over Millions rather than thousands of players.... Current MMP's focus upon marketing add on toys...having personal decals on their mechs (which they can see 3rd person...so they care)....bubble heads...camo colors...etc...

Right now...this is a very expensive open BETA...

PGI needs to carefully evaluate their market strategy upon release...Personally I would strongly suggest that the game be marketed for about $40-50 as a STEAM indy.... That will translate to millions of new players....

Secondly...I strongly STRONGLY suggest that the internal economics of this current beta be totally JUNKED and replaced to one more in line with MW3 and MW4 MERCENARIES....

The success of this game is the META game....the strategic game...like Chromehounds...

The fun of the game is unit vs unit play...the thing that made MW3 so immensely successful was that the game supported Star Lance....the league play where units played and competed together...

Chromehounds took the core of MW5 and implemented with a modestly modified story line and different mech appearances....unit play was up front...and it was absolutely immersive... the game had built in voice com...and was dead solid perfect as far as mecha play. On line play was funded through your XBOX live account...

MWO could take a page from Chromehounds....but it has the disadvantages of being a PC based game whose game engine will simply NOT play on most of the installed PC base..

While the remaining high end PC market still numbers in the tens of millions....this does suggest that PGI might well focus some serious programming resources towards refining their CryEngine graphic module so that it will play at reduced settings on a wider range of installed PC's....

Remember children...the more that can play...the more will play and contribute towards PGI's maintenance and expansion of said product.

So...succinctly...rather than expedite the current strategy of further soaking the "tin foil hat" brigade.... I think that PGI seriously needs to focus upon their end game business model....

They need to attract MILLIONS of new players to this game...

And that REQUIRES basic and FUNDAMENTAL changes to what we see in this beta...
