How about a user controlled scrolling message board that flies across the front of your mech?

I think that the best free to play system is the League of Legends one. There, everything you need to get competitive is free. Take some time to get it, you must play, gain points and spend on what you like, if you want to get it faster just buy it. Every once and a while a new hero is released, and can only play him by paying, after a week you can get a taste of the new hero. The diferent hero skins are only buyable.
I think MW should be similar, it would make the game competitive and balanced.

I don't think premium mech chassis would grant a player any advantage over another (ie. ship classes in Star Trek Online). Technology and weapon types on the other hand certainly would grant an advantage. Clan technology should be made available to all parties at the same time (or perhaps granted as salvage when fighting the Clans after their arrival in IS space.)

If VOICE chat is not a built-in feature, I am out. I have high end TB head sets and I cannot even stomach typing while playing. I won't pay for something that is industry standard.
Voice chat is hardly a standard. Its a feature that makes a game stand out from its competitors and vital one for successful clan, guild or any kind of coordinated activity.
In some games, where it is well done, it is used. In games where it is made poorly (and they are many), people still use other clients for talking.

Making the voice chat cost from 3€ to 5€ would ensure that the chat is not filled with monkeys and it would be worth Piranha's while to implement it.

I guess im one of those older gamers who either waits patiently for the release or i try to talk myself into spending $30 to play it now. Personally i would have liked to see a founder mech , say light, at the $30 level. $60 level should have 2 mechs. There should have been a $90 level with 3 mechs, light, med, heavy. $120 would then be 4 mechs and name in-game.

For me the $30 level seems really lacking considering its a free to play game. Example. I can play DC Universe for free with my sons. I enjoy the game and i end up spending $30 dollars for lantern upgrade, lightning upgrade and another. Don't really see spending much more on it. My sons each spent $10 for more hero slots and lantern packages. So household total so far $50 which is about the max i would be willing to spend on a really good retail game.

If i pay $30 i get to play now and get 50% more xp and cbills for a month and $40 in game cash. If i wait till the game is released to the public, my understanding is that i can still get a premium membership for $10 which will give me prob. 25% or 50% increase to xp and cbills and more than likely give me $10 in game money. Granted things may change but getting 3 months of 50% increase is a lot better than for 1 month.

Now throwing in a mech with a built in 25% cbill increase is a stroke of genius and gets me interested in the $30 program. I know why they do things the way they do. But 3 levels is very limiting. A rather lame $30 level, slightly better $60 level and over priced/ out of reach $120 God like level. Makes the other bottom levels look rather bland.

NO clan tech please! I love the idea of paint jobs and decals but nothing that gives advantage to ppl who can shell out cash just to win.

I think you should make a Bot-Co Store and sell hats for mechs to wear.

Then give people the ability to find Crates in game that need you to purchase a special code(key) to unlock them.
By unlocking these crates you will have a -100% chance of finding an unusual hat with a cool effect like tiny mechs dancing?.

Then we can have trade servers where we can swap hats. But don't stop there start adding more rare items like a pair of roller skates that give you 10% speed increase but +50% damage if you get hit by a trout.

The possibilities are endless.

I would also like the ability to heavily customize the colour of my mechs, something like this i would pay for.

Probably already been said, but I'd really enjoy a "target practice" or "simulation" gametype where it's a team of your friends against some AI enemies.

ELEMENTAL ARMOR!! i havnt seen anybody else talk about this but they were never in the games although they are in the lore! i personally think there is room for them in the game epecially if there is to be pvp and pve. they are small, fast and very hard to hit light a super lightweight mech.

If you just google battletechs elemental armor you will see how awsome this concept could be. instead of a lance of 4 mechs you could instead have 12-16 elemental for example. if theres enough people in your guild/clan/house that could be very interesting!! please help me spread the word on this one as i think it would bring alot of diversity to the game.

on another subject, there is room in the game for all the other types of vehicles eg. fighters, tanks etc. if the balance is right there should be no påroblem. i mean if you have to replace one mech for 1 fighter or elemental or tank then of course no one is going to use them. but if one mech= 3 elementals, or 4 tanks or 2 fighters then it is possible.

your thoughts please! ;)

Coming from TF2 I have to say it: HATS!!!

Beyond that Variant Models for the mechs that stick as closely to the silouette as possible, but do not modify the ability of the mech. (EG a Spiky Atlas)

Speacialty or rare mech designs...not uber-mechs...just something different than what you'd typically see. For instance, someone mention the existance of Quad-mechs...

I'd pay for a Snow Fox, day one!
