If they did end up rotten, the Oxygen-Nitrogen ratio could have been greatly imbalanced (way too much nitrogen, not enough oxygen), basically rendering the environment uninhabitable by larger organisms (e.g. people). Since oxygen would be present in this scenario, rot would proceed, albeit at a rate reduced proportional to the amount of oxygen present. This would allow the bodies to be significantly rotten, yet not skeletal, after several days/weeks/months, creating the scene witnessed.

All in all, this type of death isn't all that bad everything considered. Oxygen deprivation basically causes you to pass out and die in your sleep from the lack of oxygen reaching the brain, so aside from the panic of being trapped, it would be a painless death.

Edit: A grammatical error was bugging me.

Yep and if we don't pick up Felicia Day, we don't get in there period, even with a 100 in lock picking. :)

Were those ever mentioned in any other books than the Warrior Triliogy?

All start with 3oz grain alcohol

Steiner adds 2oz Peppermint Schnapps

Davion adds 2oz Bourbon or Tequila

Kurita adds 2oz Sake

Liao adds 2oz Plum Wine

Mariks adds 2oz Ouzo

Periphery adds 2oz more grain alcohol

'Grain alcohol'? To my shame, I don't directly know what that means...

Pure ethyl alcohol, so named because it's generally produced by fermenting grains. If you don't allow the fermentation to complete, you end up with things like vodka or whiskey instead. Compare to wood alcohol, which is methyl alcohol and will kill your brain. (Er. More)

Yeah, turns out the Germans I was out with didn't have any pure grain alchohol. We substituted absinthe instead, had the same alchohol content so it worked. Thing looked like a PPC too, it was this electric blue color. Had one hell of a kick.

So if I'm looking for grain alcohol, what do I buy?
Although if green absinthe works, I can get hands on that pretty easily.

Absinthe only works because of the alchohol content. You want grain alchohol because it's a pure spirit, so it minimises the taste, although the thing numbs your mouth pretty good. Everclear is what I normally use, and what's recommended in most recipes I've seen.

I'll need to try and find that. Any other brands come to mind?
