I looked at six or seven units, and dropped with about 4 of them. Some were casual and some were very structured. BWC combined the two, being casual and fun to hang out with, but putting on the "war face" when business started. I'm active duty Navy, and I appreciated the military structure and organization. However, I didn't want the "yes sir, no sir" associated with internet ranks for a game. There is mutual respect up and down the chain of command, but we are, after all, gamers enjoying a hobby together.

I chose BWC because I was a Planetside Veteran. I played in 2004 and played off and on up until 2011 and BWC was a big name both then and now. I remembered the massive ops they led at the beginning of Planetside and found out that they were still active(somewhat) when I rejoined Planetside in 2011. I put in my application, was accepted, and never looked back.

Excellent service to their members rivaling that of the best companies known, and great opportunities for members to give back and excel in their own personal way. BWC is awesome in so many ways its hard to list them all.
Recommend this group to ANYONE.

As a veteran myself I was intrigued by BWC being veteran owned and operated. This piqued my interested because this is a group of people who for the most part understand the need for teamwork and especially camaraderie. It was very easy to get my foot in the door and they welcomed me right away. Looking at their forums I could tell they were very structured and professional. I admit this was a little intimidating at first but again the members were there from the get go encouraging me. I saw they had a great training program and awards system based on merit, not the guild leaders favorites. I knew I found the group I was going to be with. I started to drop with members of the BWC and I realized these members shared my love of the battletech universe too. But they also did not want to sacrifice enjoyment for sake of winning every single match.

I recently chose to make BWC my gaming team, and here’s why: the community. Black Widow Company has a great base of players from around the world, making it easy to make friends and play at whenever, and wherever, you want. I’ve had the opportunity to live and work on a couple of continents, and it’s fun to keep tabs on what’s happening in those parts of the world. Also? Who doesn’t love getting the Germans riled up by suggesting that Belgian beer may be superior. Camaraderie-building trash talking aside, there are other aspects to the BWC community that attracted me.
Black Widow Company has a commitment to winning, but that’s backed by the idea that victory is collaborative and built by a team. So, when I came on board, they offered me training in my games of choice. Some of the training was built to allow me to interact with BWC as a member of the team, but a significant amount of the internal training that BWC offers is skill building. Black Widow Company wants you to get better at your game, so you can enjoy your game more, and it offers the tools for gamers to do so.
Finally, as a veteran, I make a point to keep an eye out for veteran and active-duty military run establishments. I don’t always patronize those places, as some of them are, to be honest, less than reputable. That is not the case for BWC. Black Widow Company offers a place for veterans, off all branches and nations, to hang out with other veterans and share those experiences, both with each other and with those members of the Company who have never served. This type of outreach, person-to-person, is enormously beneficial, not just for the individuals involved, but for people in general. Running in an eight man team that has multiple veterans, some active duty, some civilians, that also represents several different countries, and languages, is a great experience.
So whether you’re a vet or not, if you’re looking for a place to have fun, get better, hang out, and enjoy victory, give BWC a look.

Some games offer fun, some games offer team work, other offer immersive story arcs, and excellent gameplay, but often time, those in and of themselves aren't enough to get the most out of my game time. I joined with BWC because I wanted more out of gaming than games themselves had to offer. I didn't just join an outfit of gamers who are narrowly focused on one game, Instead I joined an outfit that helps our community and pays respects to those who serve to keep our lifestyles safe, I not only enjoy my time playing with them, but I also enjoy talking with and making friends.
When you join BWC you join a community of respectable men and women with whom you will be proud to be a part.

As soon as I saw what BWC was all about, I knew it was the place for me. Everything I could see spoke of a high level of professionalism and coordination. I could also tell that there was a high degree of enjoyment and fun with BWC as well. They maintained an orderly and structured play environment, but they maintained that so that everyone could gain the maximum amount of enjoyment out of their time. Once I looked through all the material they were showing to the public, I knew that the BWC was the place for me.

I have a friend who was already a member of BWC, Skoldr. He strongly recommended I join because he knew I liked the kind of structure and motivation BWC offers. I was not disappointed. I found BWC to be highly organized and filled with mature, professional people that I wanted to get to know better.

Oddly enough it is sort of like bat man for me, as in I am sacred of spiders and decided that I would use something i feared and turn it into something my enemies feared. Though thats not the only reason I joined it is one of the 1st thoughts that popped into my mind when I 1st found BWC.

BWC was all of that... and, as it turns out, a bag of chips, too.
When I started looking for a guild to run with, I wanted one with a lot of people, but not a zerg. I wanted folks who mostly got along and didn't encourage drama. I wanted people who carried themselves throughout the community with pride, both in games and out. I wanted structure, but fun.

Back in the PS1 days, I had the pleasure of being part of Dark Skyes, an ULTRA outfit. At the time I was CO of
he Dark Skyes air division, the Dark Angels. On multiple occasions, DS and BWC, along with other ULTRA outfits worked with each other to rain down hell on the NC and VS. DS fell by the wayside near the end of the game, and though DS is still in PS2, it's not what it used to be, my old brothers in arms hadn't subscribed to PS2.
Doing pug drops one day, I found BWC, and felt right at home. Structure, teamwork, cohesiveness, chain of command, brotherhood. The saying says it all "Military-style, veteran-owned" Who wouldn't want to be part of BWC.

Professional, teamwork, style and the ability to still have fun doing it, the unit is big enough that we have a spot for the hard-core "min/maxers" along with the much more casual player. No matter what type of player you are you can join BWC and have fun and improve your game.

To be honest, I’m always a bit weary of large groups because I like the elite small group experience (I’ve been in the top 10 in RTSs, top raiding guilds, and platinum 5v5 team in LoL). The thing I learned as BWC kept ‘following’ me is that in such an organized group you can really find your place. I can have my elite group of players with similar playstyles and we have like minded players to support and be supported by.

In the past I would play MMOs and what would happen is that the guilds or kinship would fall apart, so then I would play in a different guild or just a different game. The reason that I picked BWC is that they have been a company for a long time and they play many different games all together. I think that BWC isn’t just organized but the group as a whole is very creative. It’s interesting the different missions that they bring to a game like PS2 and MWO. It makes games more challenging and fun. Take a chance and put in an application, I don’t think you will regret it. http:// www.the-bwc.com
