I don't have a lot of experience with MW:O but I must say that I like what I see especially within BWC.
I am looking forward to Assault Mechs in general. That is my chosen type of Mechs that I run and maybe always will. I love this game and I love BWC. Their playstyle is refined and complex and that is why we win. We know what we want and what Mechs are good for us and here we are ready to rumble.
Good job everyone!

Are you ready for them? Because they are coming. Atlas pilots beware - load your largest engines and run. Timber Wolf packs will tear off your legs and toss them about like primal metal chew toys.
But what is this primary light / medium pilot looking forward too? Well, are you finding yourself off alone more often then not, in some dark place on the map? Having trouble navigating in the black of River City at night? My Nova will gladly come to your assistance. With 12 articulated arm mounted energy hardpoints it will quickly superheat your armor into a glowing red Omnidirectional beacon to light the way in for your team mates. Like moths to a flame.
And yes, it has jump jets - so look up.

Probly all of them. I have a wide range of mechs now, and I play all of them. I enjoy playing the different roles that each mech will offer. With a wide range of clan mechs coming, it will be a great grind getting them all mastered up. From 30 tons, to 100 tons, they all take different playstyles to be effective in combat.
With that being said, the Timber Wolf will be tough to beat. But a Nova with he 12 energy hard points can neutralize even the biggest mechs. The whole release will change the game. The big stompy, brawling, Dire Wolf will rattle windows on the entire planet when dropped in to battle. These will be great times.

I can't say im not dying for the classic Timber Wolf, but I have grown to love my Lights Mechs.
In all the Old PC games going into a mission using a Light was like playing in Ultra hard mode lol.
But in this game I have made it a point of pride that I can take the smallest Mech on the field and use it to carve a flaming path of wrecked Mechs and components from one side of the battlefield to the other. So I'm hoping that the Clan lights are as much fun as the Firestarters have been for me. One way or the other I look forward to having more variety on the battlefield be it as a new Mech to stomp around in or as a New target to dismantle!

Since I have not been playing MWO for more then one week I have not really had the chance to go into depth of what clan mechas are about, since I am still trying to learn the basic of operating the normal mechs.
If I were to go for looks and having a fast overlook of all the clan mechs I must say that I really like the Summoner. Seems like my kind of mech that will fit my playstyle.

I have to say that I am interested in seeing how the clan omni-mechs are going to work out. There definitely tend to be some idiosyncrasies that I have a hard time wrapping my head around- like the lights being restricted in their engine size and not even breaking 100 kph on the speed meter. That being said I am really looking forward to the Nova first and foremost. Twelve ER Medium Lasers mounted in the arms? With jump jets? This thing sound like a fully steroid-ed out Firestarter that is going to melt opposing armor from half way across the battlefield. Sure beam duration may make it difficult to give you pinpoint damage, and heat may be an issue... but for someone with the skills to bring this thing to life, it will be a whirling dervish on the battlefield, slicing off components left and right.
I can also see the Warhawk being the big brother of the Nova with its sniper based, stock loadout. The punishment that it will deal from long range will put fear into the hearts of many an Atlas owner. Four ER-PPC's giving high pinpoint damage from 1000 meters out will be searching for side torsos to knock off of opposing mechs like fat kids gobbling down cake. If it had a jump jets, I can only imagine the extra pain that would be suffered and the tears it would leave spread across the battlefield...

Well, I red all of the classic Battletech novels in the 90s and I my first contact to the Clans leads me to my first choice. The Timber Wolf. This mech was arguably the first Clan OmniMech encountered by Inner Sphere forces. Yes, and the Timber Wolf was designed by Clan Wolf. The Timber Wolf have some very good options for long and midrange combat situations and my preferred model is known as PRYDE. Probably a Hero version. A pair of LRM-20s, two ER-Large laser, two ER-mediums and one ER small laser. This version also mounts four jump jets making it highly maneuverable. Sounds sweet.
My second choice, the Widowmaker, can do a lot of damage. Two ER-PPC, two Large Pulse Lasers, three ER Medium Lasers, an ER Small Laser and a Ultra(!)AC/20. What a nasty beast. This chassis is formerly known as Dire Wolf.
Natasha Kerensky, the black widow, widely regarded as the best and deadliest MechWarrior of the 31st century, with the possible exception of Kai Allard-Liao, used this one until her death.
Which Mech could better represent the Black Widow Company as the Widowmaker?

I'm looking forward to the Clan light mechs. I currently don't run lights because at those speeds, I simply suck, and I didn't seem able to improve much. But Clan light mechs are slower and can pack quite a punch. I'm looking forward to seeing how I can use them.
And many of us in BWC have purchased some Clan packs already. I can't wait to see what we make of them.

I'm highly anticipating the Timber Wolf. Yes... I know, how very mainstream of me. It is the iconic mech and I loved piloting it growing up. My build is an all range killer with 2 LRM 15's. 2 cER Large Lasers and 1 LBX-10. I had very good heat efficiency, and a top speed IIRC of ~80kph. The Timber Wolf is a boss mech, and I'm not looking forward to going up against it in my IS chassis.

I suspect that I will join the Mad Cat crew, as I remember from playing old battletech vid games (Crescent Hawks Revenge anyone?) and just feared these things. Versatile platform, LRMs (which are having a good renaissance), mobility - all of these in a sexy package, what's not to like?

This would be an easy one. I honestly cannot wait to try them all out and find out which will be my go to favorites.
If I had to pick based on weight class for the light it would be an Adder, medium would be a Stormcrow, heavy would be a Timber Wolf and the Dire Wolf rounds it out at assault.
As to why the reason would be that these were the clan mechs I remember using out the most in table top of the ones being released by PGI. I know some chassi will be declared better than others but in the end I believe they will all be fantastic!

That's easily the STK-M, my Misery. It's my baby. It's able to fend off marauding light mechs with its two large pulse lasers, and deliver the knockout blow with its autocannon 20. There's no other mech I'd rather be on the battlefield with because of its speed, durability, firepower, and my familiarity with it.
I regularly do tons of damage and score several kills per match in my Misery. I've included some screenshots below so you can see how well it works with my BWC fellows backing me up.

Like BigZach, it's my Misery. I've enjoyed almost all of my mech. Some are more frustrating than others, as you know, but I've used my Misery a lot to grind up my C-bills. I'm well over 200,000,000 now, so I can buy whatever I want. But even when I get a new ride, I still love driving that Misery around.
It's gone through a couple iterations. I settled on a 5 LL build that I would pinpoint the alpha strike a couple times and make very good damage and kills. When the 'Ghost Heat' came out, I eventually settled on an AC20, ML and LL combo. You've gotta protect that gun, but it can hand out some nasty damage and live to the end. (But with me driving that's usually not the case)

With just enough firepower to overheat, and enough cooling to avoid it, piloting a properly built Atlas is about forcing people to make hard choices. Ignore the Atlas, and its considerable firepower is unopposed; focus it, and you forgo softer targets with more proportionate firepower. It's vulnerable to the long-range firepower that's currently dominating the battlefield, but if you can get your team to move through cover with you, it can still be a devastating foe. Difficult to pilot well; terrifying when used correctly: when you absolutely, positively must disrupt their team and drag some poor fool screaming down with you - the Atlas is the Battlemech to use.
While I don't pilot it much in the current metagame environment, smashing yet another fool who thinks he can take me just because my torsos are open and half my 'mech is gone is some of the most fun I have ever had in this game - "Atlas SMASH!"

It's very nimble, fast, packs a punch and have jump jets. It's basically a multi-purpose mech where it can do ridge sniping at medium distance using it's jumpjets. Poke around corners and also is a semi-decent brawler.
I tend to like fighting at around 200-360m from the enemy but don't mind getting up close to the target. Especially if I see the opportunity of getting a well placed AC20 shot between the shoulder blades of a damaged enemy mech.
When I first joined the BWC I was heavily relying on Missile boats that had a lot of LRMS on it. This simply because I had really poor aim. With help from our BWC courses and fellow Mechpilots I have quickly developed both my aiming and pilot skills.

I have to say that all of the Stalkers suit my playstyle(Brawler type). They are good all around and they look very nice and resembles a bit the robots from Earth strategy game.
One year ago, after I joined BWC the STK-5M was my first mech. With the SRM setup it was the perfect close quarters mech in that period after they were nerfed. I do not suggest going with SRMs now because of their wide spreading range.
Now, I run with 5 Large Lasers. It gets the job done slowert but effecient enough. Also I am flanking or sniping now so the all time brawler style had to succumb to the game. I am still trying to improve on this.

The Jenner is small, fast, mobile, serious damage for it’s size. It’s amazing what a coordinated wolfpack of these babies can do. I don’t care about tonnage

The Wang has always been my favorite. Play it like a ninja, rush in, boom-boom and fade… I love to see things explode with that AC20. Sure, if you lose your right arm, it sucks, but that is why you need to shield it and dance like a pro!
At BWC we have some great dancing teachers... how low can YOU go in % of your mech and still survive?

Man, this is a tough question. I tend to go on runs at playing certain mechs for awhile and then moving on to something new... so I don't really have a complete fallback mech that I can call my favorite. I guess I'm the guy that goes into Baskin Robbins and always likes to try the flavor of the week, and doesn't always want to eat strawberry ice cream.
If I was going to go with which mechs I currently play the best I would have to say my Orion Protector. It's a straight up brawling machine that can take a decent number of hits and puts some high alpha damage down on anything under its own tonnage. Sure, I have to remember to keep twisting because the center torso on it is about the size of Santa Claus's belly... but she is lethal in close.
I guess if I was going to call anything a fallback favorite I would have to say it is the Cicada 3M. ECM in something that can actually pack a little bit of a punch is always a good thing. I was also stuck inside that little tin box for weeks on end during one of our in-house tournament series... so I know her inside and out. For a shifty little medium you can still pack a little bit of a wallop. My favorite loadout is probably using it to carry an LB 10-X and three medium lasers. You can squirrel up behind someone that your bigger buddies have already done some damage to and go to shredding internals. That's something you can't do in a Spider or Raven (although I can be very jealous of their jump jets).
