The old switcharoo? Nice!

Still, a great addition to the lineup!

This is not what I was expecting. Aren't we due for another assault class?

Where's my Mauler? :D

PC Gamer readers already spotted the Highlander in the article, being the next assault.

Note that neither of these are the "Hero Mech" announcement.. "16" is annd clearly was an assumption by the fans.

We waited months for the Flea? That piece of trash from MW4 whos only purpose was getting you a free million cbills after the first mission? What possible reason could there be for adding such an awful mech?

Ha the flea, that aside no flea pilot would be insane/stupid enough to hide at a atlas' feet thats just asking for a fatal kick.

Now if we could only use melee attacks in MWO.....

Was directed here by the thread debating the Highlander...

I NEARLY choked laughing. Not even kidding.

Well played, PGI. Hat's off, would be trolled again. The forward-facing antennae are a masterful touch and make it look adorable.

Perhaps they are waiting to release the original Bmech 16 for such an occasion. You need to remember that there are over 500 distinct Battlemechs that make appearances in the Battletech universe.... the game can't just stop all things for the sake of one mech or occasion.

Yes, I think exactly this: Flea is actually 17 and 16 is waiting for the "special occasion" (hitting shelves Oct 9)

I actually like this. It has a dumb name, but this will replace my Commando when it gets added to the game. Bravo.

Now I am chuckling at you assuming the Flea will be bad in MWO just because it was bad in MW4.

News flash, they are very different games, and all light 'mechs (really mediums too for the most part) were useless in MW4 online play.

So, a couple things:

First, like I said earlier, this thing looks a lot more like a Locust than the Flea (which means it looks significantly better than the original Flea ever did). It's a slower Locust that has all energy hardpoints.

Second, the FLE-17 uses EndoSteel and MASC.

Third, as of "now" (the in-game "now"), and even into launch of this game, Fleas using these "recovered technologies" (the FLE-17 described in TRO3050) are being produced by Earthwerks Incorporated exclusively for the Wolf's Dragoons (TRO 3050 was "published" in 3052 according to the text in the book). Apparently the "standard" version of the Flea had a pair of Machine Guns instead of MASC and standard medium lasers instead of pulse lasers and EndoSteel, making it literally a slower Locust with more weapons.

Whoo-Hoo!!

In the right hands (typically not mine, unfortunately! ) Fleas can do a bunch of damage. They're small enough that they're hard to hit, providing that the pilot keeps moving. In MW4 I used one to take down a Daishi by staying close to his legs and circle-strafing! The pilot was severely ticked and started calling for his team mates to "Get that @*#&@# off him. :D
