In my days of playing BattleTech tabletop game, I learned to never, ever, underestimate the agility and speed of a Light 'Mech, especially the Flea. They pack quite a punch for their small size. Can be dangerous if ignored.

How many Fleas can an Atlas carry...?

Or juggle even?

Is leaked because that magazine is not released yet.

Actually, they already mailed it out days ago. Some people already snagged their "October" copy as a result.

Best thing a Flea ever did for me was the Large laser one... started by cleaving apart a Hermes with that laser, then roasting a second light-medium mech before a Clint finally legged it... then the little upstart slagged the Clint while standing on it's one good leg.

Aside from that, most Fleas in tabletop tend to have the life expectancy of their namesakes.

It's definitely the best looking Flea hands down. However the "mech for heroes" comment is debatable.

Oh ye gods....as if Commandos moving at speed weren't hard enough to pin down, we get something even smaller. Nice, I love a challenge.

Also, that thing looks fantastic, I'd almost consider driving one.

Gentlemen (and ladies), a 20 ton mech with 5 energy hardpoints in it's basic configuration. 96kph, 10 double heat sinks, 5 medium lasers. 180XL engine and 140kph speed optional.

Now, someone tell me it's useless again. :D

Up until now, the publicly announced Battle-Mechs have been balanced in number. Jenner and Commando, Hunchback and Centurion, Catapult and Dragon, Atlas and Awesome.

Then they announced the Raven. Now the Flea.

Some might cry that the other classes aren't getting more choices so soon.

I'm quite ecstatic. The way I see this, the light mechs will be much more affordable for any player. Thus, with the more light mechs we're given at launch, the wider our selection of potential starter mechs!

That said: I hope Piranha continues to focus on light and medium mechs before introducing more heavies and assaults. It will be good to see plenty of lights and mediums on the battlefield.

Eager to see launch,
Koniving.

Has anyone else noticed in the pic of the Flea, that it looks like it has taken a flamming crap on the ground between it's legs? I'm not big on lights and was hoping for a Panther if we got another one. That being said, it looks nice. Great job on the design.

I'll take a fire ant variant, please. 3 flamers and 6 machine guns. Swap out a couple MGs for a TAG unit and you have instant death for the commando or jenner you just forced into a heat shutdown.

WTF..? Flea..? Really..? We waited this long for the FLEA..? Your kidding right...? The FLEA !?!?!?!

Where is our jumping, ballistic loadout, Assault mech..?

After all this time I expected an Unseen or a Highlander..

Instead we get the FLEA.. Talk about your extreme let down. This is the biggest letdown since no Beta announcement at GDC ( Thppphttt )

I don't mind that.. but we already have a useless laser boat speed mech.. its called the Spider.

The Flea is 20 tons of useless dreck.. its a Infantry support mech at best.

I seriously do not get why they would waste any time or effort on the Flea. I mean the thing doesn't even have Jump Jets.. and only goes 97.2. So you have a slow Laser only, lack 20 ton mech with no jump jets.. Whats the purpose again of this useless thing ? NO wonder they waited so long to announce it.. No one would care.

Want a 20 tonner, then why not the:

Mercury (Does 172 kph w/ MASC)

Other light Mechs that fit the 3050 Revised Tech readout limitation for Mech selection and would have been a MUCH better option.

Urbie
Panther
Firefly (at least it has JJs)
Mongoose (At least its fast)

IN final I Get wanting more light mechs.. I DO NOT GET THE FLEA.. It's more useless than the Urbie.

To the people calling this thing useless: when tonnage limitations for teams are introduced this will be the thing that fills the leftover tons after all the Heavies and Assaults are in.
