Battletech, Mechwarrior, Mechassault Cohesion

For anyone who has played the campaigns and multiplayers of either game you know the gameplay is great. Some of use like 3rd person and some like 1st. I think to expand to all Mech players you need the option of either. Also the faster paced gameplay, not so much the arcade style of mech one, but the cohesion of Mechassualt 2 would encourage constant play among all players.

Mechassault just felt like arcade games.

Some of us like Battletech as a 'simulation' game. Two different kinds of games, each with their merits.

My experience with mechassault was that it barely worked from a gameplay point of view unless you limited mech choices to the lightest mechs. Otherwise you just had a bunch of people mulling around in a circle waiting to cool down enough to fire.
Edit: Mechwarrior a simulator? No, not when you have a nuclear reactor that just takes care of itself. The damage model also isn't anywhere near sim levels, and there isn't much to gunnery beyond pointing and shooting.

Yes, I agree In real life my car has an internal combustion engine, that pretty much takes care of itself, if there's a problem I take it to a mechanic, but I'm not trying to adjust fuel intake levels and teak the airflow and coolant flow while I'm driving.

It's a good game in the arcade style gameplay it offers.
It's bad as a Battletech/Mechwarrior game.

There must be some miscommunication here, I said I'm agreeing with you and explained why I agree with you, if engines today can be built to not require direct input from the driver other than throttle/accelerator, then I'm sure in the future these reactors will be made "fool" proof as well.

Taking lessons from Mechassault is the last thing MWO should be doing.
