I played earthsiege but i dont remember if it was actually before the first computer Mechwarrior title or after. Also played the two Battletech computergames Crescent Hawks inception and revenge.

Interesting to see that MWO has a slightly older player-base, at least according to this poll. That makes me happy. Not that I have anything against younger players, but my experiences in other games have made me wary.

My guess would be that we get more of the "youngguns" aboard when the game actually goes live.

The poll basically shows that there are a lot of old fans from the tabletop and the old Mechwarrior series still around and eagerly awaits the chance to go at it again in Mechs.

There was another thread on this, I believe. I'm too drunk (wife's birthday today, but she decided to buy ME a ton of beer to celebrate HER birthday) to know if this is the same thread or not. I think it isn't, so I'm 55 next Wednesday (4th of April). No doubt I shall be drunk again at that time.

If you're talking about the Old Timers Clan from MW4 (previously Tribes and Heavy Gear going back to 1997) then yes I imagine that they will be in MWO. Points of contact would be OTC-Mournblade and OTC-Nighthawk.

The old thread had a non-working poll so i made another thread with a working poll. Then a mod decided to merge the new thread (with poll) to the old thread thus creating this one.

I'm lovin the fact that we've got some tabletop gamers here. i've still got a stack of battletech manuals and tech readouts taller than my 8 yr old son! i know its slow and lacks action but ya gotta remember computers were fairly ***** back then. unless you love pong or text adventures! Oh 40 years myself and played with mechs for at least half of those years, lol

My original poll thread was created on Nov 2, 2011. The poll did work. Someone mucked it up.

Turned 26 just last weekend. I was running a 20-member Wolf's Dragoons during Mechwarrior 3.

I just realized that twenty people were following a 13-year old and didn't seem to have a problem with a merc group taking on the Draconis Combine one on one in a planetary league.

...insane.
