But this is giving me some hopes for the community and in a far sight for the gameplay. :) As it seems most members here already have gone past puberty. So maybe we can play along in peace without flame wars and swear words. :D

I remember when everything there was for Battletech came in one box. Minis? nope. Source books? nope. Novels? You guessed it, nope. I was thrilled when citytech came out and almost wet myself when they released 3025. Almost 42 now and I still have all my original books.

1st: My "Almost youngest here" title is lost. :D

2nd: Work a bit on your grammar, ok? :)

3rd: Are you sure to come here? Lots of bad kids here. ;)

Ok, I am joking. How did you get to Mechwarrior? Parents, older brother/sister,...?

For those looking at the shear thrill of blowing things up - the bulk of the pilots - it's going to be the younger generations of player...and rightfully so. For the continued success of this game, and our communities that were created back in the 90's...it needs to be.

NTK

I have to disagree with you here. As the poll shows, there is quite a mature audience present. There are other games available if all you want is a simple "blow crap up" game. While I am sure there will be some of them, the bulk of the players for this game will likely not be those looking for a simple "thrill of blowing things up".

Old enough to have played Crescent Hawk's Inception on my Commodore 64. Old enough to have been a regular usenet poster on rec.games.mecha...

...old enough.

That is the first I've heard of someone playing on something older than what I had (286 IBM PC with the Crescent Hawks Inception & Revenge).

This is one community that doesn't make me feel old, thankfully. I get enough reminders of my age irl ;)

See the poll shouldn't be "how old are you" it should be "what is your mental age" because I'm sure there are some big kids amongst the older generation

Wow, I don't feel bad at 33 now.

If you think hitting the 21+ group was bad, wait until you hit that 30+ ;).

But I guess it does makes sense. After all, it was our generation's time when BattleTech was at it's peak.
