I ran the Black Lions Cooperative and Mercenary unit in the 3056 MUSE. Was also a Senior Colonel in St. Ives for a while as well.

Hey all. I could not get the name GaretJax, it was taken, but good to see some old 3056/3065/3030/30xxxxx players here. I am hoping to find a group of "old timers" to play alongside. God help me if they get a Snord's Irregulars that I can play with Posted Image
Known as Garet_Jax, Rhonda Snord, Cranston_Snord, Matrix

There's some names I recognize from long, long ago. I was on 3056 also as Azoth Tengu, if I remember correctly I spent some time kicking around with you Snord's too.

Played 3030 MUX for the House Kurita mostly(there were not always scenarios with Kurita), using zMUD UI to handle all macro. Still remember Cadet evaluation test, running LCT-1S through "Gauntlet" map. Good old days. I really miss the game system of BT MUX. It was nearly perfect. We had HQs nad you can walk around the base and even fight with personal weapons, you had to travel between FBs using hovercraft in real time. If you were injured you had to stay in medbay to recover and medtechs were actually using skills to help you. If you were captured during the battle-you were send to jail. You could break from jail or bribe the guards, based on your skills. You were able to board enemy mech if the pilot was killed and pilot it in fight and bring it back to HQ to add it to mech pool. There was personal weapons for the pilots and physical attacks for the mech. It was possible to kick or punch mechs and it you punch cockpit you could kill pilot and salvage mech in good condition. And you really had to setup radio freq to have secure communication between units. And if you got your mech destroyed, the first rule was "CLEAR ALL FREQS!" as the salvaged mech with all freqs set can help enemy to get intel :)

As i remember, the Tai-shu of the unit was the guy with nick Fazul Aliga or something, we just called him Faz :D My highest rank was Chu-i

Someone please make the remake of 30** MUX with all this features! :)

I played in '56 and '28. Kurita in 28 and CSV in '56. Best memory was winning a bloodname in '56. TT i was always Kurita. Hopefully we can get faction specific mech varients here.

I would love to see them do faction-specific mechs. You should be allowed to switch houses/factions UNTIL you select one. Then you should be locked in to that faction. For the mercs, let them pick Solaris-specific designs from the arena fighting. That way they won't cry that the Houses get all the love.

Hey hey you old farts. By random found this game. Good to see some old names around.

I went by Marcellus Carson (Mar) usually on all the BTECH MU*'s.
Last remember playing 3034(?) back in '04 right after moving. We had some mech races or some such.

I played a while on Battletech: The Frontier Lands in the early to mid 2000s, as "Mart Bochum".
Had some great fun piloting a PXH-3K, what I miss a bit in MWO is being an annoying pest in a Nightshade.

Played 'em all.. :)

Me, Leviathan, Ben, Dizzledorf and others worked on 3034 and 3058 together. In my clan, Sturmgrenadier, I even have a couple of 'mates who played the games way back when. Anyone remember the Peacemakers? :)

Falryx? Holy crap! There's a name I haven't seen in a very long time. 3034 Nightmare Brigade forever! :) Used to be Ishido Kagei on 3056 and then Retsudo Kagei on 3034 - The Battle for Bryant. Still miss my Phoenix Hawk and still regret never having gotten around to finishing burning the DC dragon sigil into the forest on the Lyran map. :D

I never did Muds, but my first foray into Battletech was through Neveron, because the Megamek bot was a little bit difficult to work with at the time.

I came to love all the cheap battletech tanks like the LRM/SRM carriers, Bulldogs, Scorpions and Vedettes, so on and forth, thanks to that game. It gives a whole different perspective on things when a single mech costs more than a whole company of tanks of the same tonnage.

(No, they don't normally, but Neveron used a market system that jacked up the prices of mechs and other high-value units though the roof)

Ishido/Retsudo! I remember you! Awesome to see some of the same old crew in MWO. :) And yes, Nightmare Brigade forever! Those were some awesome times.

Acknowledging up front this is a severe necro'ing of this thread

Just started playing MWO 2 weeks ago. Hadn't thought of BTech in years.

Played Btech3056MUSE? MUSH? which I stumbled upon by accident bored one night.

Joined DC, was introduced in the mysteries of text based combat by a guy who went by Valari Yamamoto. I played as Tom Sands and was put in 2nd SOL, then I think 2nd Genyosha ? as the XO but shortly thereafter migrated to another game. There was a guy who went by Randori Genji. Miyuki Criys was really good, and spawned endless debate when not around whether it was really a 'she.' Most of us stuck together as we moved on to the next game, and ultimately I met a lot of the guys who played, we had a real life meeting. Including the guy who played as Theodore Kurita.

Forget the name of that site, was set pre-clan, could capture outposts, and a huge map, but there were guys who went by the handles Leviathan, Carnifex, a few others who seemed to run the place. Played there as DC as Jerry Sands.

Later migrated to Varxsis with mostly the same crew then life caught up to me and couldn't spend hours hitting .m .c .c .t AB .f1 but wow, great times. Funny how these names stick with me and not many or hardly at all from the MMO games since then.

I was there for the somewhat early days of RGM, although not the very start, and got "recruited" to 3056 when Toni Taia emailed me after I'd made some pro-Draconis Combine posts. :) RGM was a fun place, really, and I still remember some of the more prominent posters. In fact, the address you apparently posted from according to that link seems familiar to me as well, so I'm pretty sure I read some of your posts back then. :)

Ah good times, friend Steinar. Glad to see you survived the Clan onslaught. Glory for the Dragon

Hey there, another old timer checking in... Owyn Cymrich from House Kurita. 3026, 3034, 3056... whoa. Spent most of my time helping to run the Kurita training academy for a year or two on 3056... I even took a spin at TK, although I had to quit due to RL time commitments pretty quickly and hand the reins over to someone else. Good times!

Owyn, you old bandit! Glad to see that you are still alive. Teyasu Ashora bows with respect.

Back around '93 I used to play on one of the btech muses, not sure which but dont think there was clan tech on the server. 3034 maybe. So long ago, think the name I was using at the time was Nyght or Nyghtshade. Anyway I was just a grunt in the dcms war machine having fun fighting using that "lovely" ascii interface :) Looking forward to fighting in the service of HK once again.

I remember you, Nyghtshade. I wish you all the best in your future battles.
