I'm really interrested in knowing this. You have taken a very stubborn stance regarding canon and the Centurion for example.
It can never mount any weapon on it's left arm.

Can't quote for some reason but it's the 7th question from the bottom by Morquedeas
Imagine a light mech that has only two energy hardpoints in the center torso and 2 available critical spaces for weaponry.
Not even able to use any weapons in it's arms.
If so the Spider SDR-5V will be the most reviled mech in MWO if you are this strict with it.

I think they will add like 2 extra energy hardpoints in each side torso. Yes, it breaks the rigid hardpoint system so far, but makes the Spider SDR-5V more useful (and unique).

I'd like to believe that but when you look at how they answered Morquedeas question so bluntly i think we might not see this happen.
Here is how they answered and the question.-
How will the hardpoint system apply to body sections that do not normally have weapons (but could) like the Centurion's left arm? –Morquedeas
[DAVID] If there is no weapon there in the default configuration of a particular variant, there will be no hardpoints there for you to mount weapons on.
I know the post is from long ago but still....the way the Centurion has no hardpoints in it's left arm to date.
Commando 1D and some Awesome variants also suffer from the useless limb syndrome.
It's quite discouraging.

Arm shield. Turn your left side into oncoming fire while your weapons are on cooldown (or your heat is up) and use that arm to take damage to a completely non-critical section.

The K2 has been nerfed enough already. I mean it has had 1 energy hardpoint removed from each arm, It has had 1 energy hard point removed from each side torso, It also had 1 ballistic removed from each torso already. So it has already had 6 hardpoints removed from it. I love how people are freaking out about a heavy carrying heavy weapons but you are not running around hearing people complain about a light having the same weapon when the hole mech is the size of the part people are saying is to small for one in a catapult. Funny part about this is I do not run a guassapult. I just think it is a joke how many people are screaming nerf this mech because they are 2 unskilled to learn to fight them.

The question is simply - Why haven't you tried to do something?
The issues several players agree on is this.
AC 2: Too heavy for it's weak firepower. Creates too much heat for it's weak firepower.
Can't see clearly as far as the AC 2 reaches so it's maximum range is wasted...foggy. The delay in firing and projectile speed makes the AC 2 even weaker since there are more misses.
MG: Weak as a standalone weapon and even 3 MG's have problems causing damage.
It's a bad crit hunter despite how many speculate otherwise.
Can only do 80 damage per ton of ammo compared to other ballistic weapons who do 120-130 damage per ammo ton even if everthing hits at good range.
Flamer: It doesn't raise heat enough in an enemy mech enough to be noticable. It cannot do the job it's supposed to do.

Its a shame MG's are so worthless right now. They look and sound so cool.

I would find it really helpfull to know the equipment and armor status of my mates in order to better coordinate attack / defences.
Thanks a lot!
This would be extremely helpful for PUGgers so they could formulate a game plan based on what they have to work with. Anything to tip the scales to be less favorable to premades is a good thing, especially for attracting new players. A different key (not "R") would be preferable so you're not targeting friendlies accidentally in combat.

This is one of the biggest issues right now. Though, I tend to think that the problem is more with the Gauss Rifle than the K2.

Predicted answer: because they're working on other stuff. Better question:
Are there plans to improve the MG, AC/2 or flamer?
(Examples: increased MG rate of fire and ammo/ton. Increase flamer heat given to target with highly diminishing returns to keep flameboaters away. Increase AC projectile speed such that the AC/2 is between the MG and Gauss Rifle.)
New question:
Is there any chance of adding a minimum range and/or longer recycling time for the Gauss Rifle?

Brace yourselves...3rd person is being investigated [Link inside]
It discussed the fact that the dev's got interviewed at PAX prime and said they were concidering putting 3rd person view into MWO.
Link to the interview in question.-
- http://www.mmorpg.co...On-Preview.html
Dev's are you serious about this? You do know what will happen don't you?
We will see players who just stand slightly behind a hill and pop up to alpha with some longreaching weapons.
They will missuse 3rd person to look over terrain and around corners. This has the potential to ruin MWO multiplayer completly just like previous mechwarrior games.
And that's really bad for MWO because it doesn't even have a single player campaign to fall back on.
