I know you wanted MWO to be more like MA. There may yet be another MA in some form. They already have other MW games in the works. It would be logical that another MA might do very well unless MS has some legal issue with it.
As far as MWO goes, it will be a sim. I think every thread on this board confirms that MWO is in the best possible hands and PGI has taken this further and better than anyone has ever hoped for.

I love action mech games, so I WAS a bit underwhelmed when I first came to know that MW:O was slated to be a sim. What can one expect though, after all, it IS a MW game. That said, I have seen the videos of MW:O in motion and I am very impressed. The game moves faster and more fluid than I would have guessed a simulator to move. I also think that the game is visually very nice. Keep up the great work PGI!
PS- I believe that Reign of Thunder is taking pole position as far as mech action/arcade games goes. Game looks nice so far...

RoT isn't gonna be all that awesome. I'll try it but, it's trying to cash in on the Mech genre revival that MW:O and Hawken seem to have sparked off. I'm also skeptical cause Day 1 hasn't released anything good in a while, last game that I remotely enjoyed from them was MA2. From what RoT appears to be is MA with new skins. This game has my primary interest.

They are just doing like those MA guys and trying to cash in on the BT brand name!!!

Werewolf, I don't see Hawken as any kind of real "spark" in the mech world. MW4 has been "leaving the light on" for MW fans for a good while now. I know not everyone enjoys it, but I cannot agree that Hawken has been any kind of really large influence on the recent spark in the mech world. I give most credit to PGI and the rest to RoT. Hawken is, IMHO, really a non-factor. I know that I won't even bother with it.

Simple fact is though it sparked interest in some way shape and form and is up there with MW in terms of graphical fidelity and immersion. It goes for a gundamesque/ Phantom crash feel and nails it on the head. I love the looks of the combat and the feel of gritty that it gives off. I don't like the actual gameplay elements until I see more and detailed info. Which is why I'm here in my niche. The devs feed us and in turn we feed them as well with drive and a passion to make the game the best it can be. So I for one thank Hawken for showing up. It generated something you can't buy or make interest.
