Today, i realised that my very strong desire..my overwhelming urge...my NEED for information about this game..NAY..my imperative to PLAY this game NOOOWWWWWW..has gently and quietly slid into my everyday normal "real life" the way a Death Commando might sneak into your bedroom at night to give you a nasty surprise from Theodore Kurita.
I was at work and someone wanted to know where our fueler was(fuels the company trucks at night), i wasnt sure but had seen him earlier heading to the mechanics bay..not thinking of what i was saying i casually said..."oh yeah, i think he's over in the mech bay"..i then realised what i said then covered up by saying..you know..."the mechanics work area."
At that moment it came to me that i reaaaaaally want to play this game very badly and will have to reload all my old mechwarrior games to get that fix..if i cant find them will have to buy them again..have you SEEN the prices on amazon..wow!!!
Anyway, is anyone else having this problem of having speech altered, neural pathways being altered and rewired because of your desire to play this game?

I find myself constantly wishing for pulse lasers attached to my car.

Oh, and an Intek laser rifle.

And a needler pistol.

And my car is actually a Drillson.

Stop, take a breath, go outside for a walk for a little bit. A game can mean a great deal of things, but you should never, ever let your life revolve around one. It's a game after all, it's there to let you have fun from time to time, not to become your life in its entirety. That can only lead to pain and suffering in the end.

This is a normal reaction to traffic ;)

Hmm... when did the Death Commandos move to the DC from CC?

My reaction to traffic is wanting a Royal Ripper.... nice 180 kph VTOL and MPL if anything is in the way of landing.

I honestly shut myself out from all BT/MW stuff for a few weeks a while back. Was getting pretty obsessed. I weaned myself back on and I am now wary that I may become obsessed yet again. It is common of BT fans I think...

The more people getting their "fix" and brushing up their piloting the better. My siggie for a link to MekTek. If anyone is having an issue getting online create a new thread to get help!

Edit: At Mektek, ofc.

I find myself looking at potential gamers and computer gamers -yes, they are different, though often also the same- and trying to figure out if I should ask them or not, hehe. I do not wish my truck were anything other than what it is, though I do wish I could legally make better use of my cattle guard, to get jackasses out of my way.

I, too, am jonesing on a regular basis to get into the cockpit and knock the rust off, since Mercs-4 will not work well enough on this laptop to allow me to respawn so I can continue playing... or, is my computer trying to tell me something (rubs chin in wonder). We've been trying to play some MegaMek, as well, to brush up on tactics and play styles, and I'm finding I even need some work in that area. That's what I get for being BattleTech-dry, except for two battles with my sons, for about twelve years, now.

I share your enthusiasm. It is easy to get focused on the Bt universe given the state of the Real world. It's nice to let one's self sink into a time and place where one can actually do something (usually with a high powered weapon) about a "problem". After a period of release, one can then return to the problems of life renewed enthusiasm and focus. The time to get worried is when you take out a 2nd mortage and start construction on that mech hanger in your backyard!

The second mortgage might seem excessive Seabear, but without the custom built mechbay, where are you going to park your mech to keep its paint from suffering under adverse weather conditions!

This song haunts my dreams... so close to music I listened to when playing battletech, and soooo close to the MWO theme
