This is the Mech I've been waiting for to get really excited about this game. Sure, we've already got nice assaults lined up for us, but the Highlander....there's just something special about this Mech.

Hilariously bad stereotyping. I guess from this we should assume all Americans are fat morons with more guns than sense?

I didn't think that was an assumption, i thought that was fact from all the teamspeak gun nuts, i run into.

All well and fine. But still the Highlander is a very rare Mech compared to other Members of its class.
But I guess its futile to say so over and over again, since Gausscats are stalking the maps, and Laser Hunchies with XL Reaktors running everywere.
Compared to this this the Highlander is only a little uncommon choice but at least not totally out of canon like those fellows.
And before some blasted 'kan i haz Madz catz' guys are asking: try replace the Engine of your car with a that of a Truck.
With this in mind you could imagine what it would be like to replace the standart reaktor of your mech with an XL one.

Well first off i'd point you to Monster Garage. perhaps we should have a 5 day cooldown while said xl engines are fitted? Also i'll point out my RX-7 had a 13B engine, i ripped that out and put in a truck engine in being a 20A. thats pulling a car engine out and putting a truck engine in, took all of 3 days.

Hmm. The skull insignia on the left arm is kinda reminiscent of the Hanson's Roughriders unit crest, but if memory serves they have theirs on a blue background, not a tan one. Anyone recognize what unit that insignia might belong to?

My Favorite mech of all times. Please keep the side silhouette down like the old MW4 Mercs version. ;)

Ugly. Did you hire a new artist? I preferred the old guy.

As noted earlier in this very thread:

The unit insignia on that Highlander's Left Arm appears to be that of Hansen's Roughriders, a former FWL line regiment that became a mercenary regiment with a history of service to House Steiner and the LCAF/AFFC.
;)

Also, there is a recent and separate thread listing the insignia used on each of the thus-far announced 'Mechs... ;)

I find it funny watching this movie now that they didn't digitally remove the crazy obvious wires from his shoulders when they put it on DVD lol

Bagpipes are beautiful because you don't know whether they are played wrong or played right and it doesn't matter because they just sound like noise anyway.

(To be clear, I am aware the Scottish do not actually talk like this. It is a charicature meant to make a more 'larger than life' and interesting character.)

I like the gauss having visible magnetic rails (at least that's what I assume it is?):

Posted Image

Any chance for all GR to be displayed as such? No? :)

Either way... seems like another masterfully remodeled classic with a personal touch (like Flea's antennae and Stalker's missile bay covers). Thumbs up. Looks like this might be my kind of a ride, since it's essentially a fatter Centurion with a useful left arm, no missile covers and jump jets... pretty much the perfect storm.

If gauss graphics is a no-go, any chance for it to be bumped ahead of the fatapult, then? If we need less of something in this game, it's missilaser boats  ...

Gotta love the writing on the leg, BTW. It's the little touches that make the concept artwork so fun to look at.

I hope that we can make our custom things say stuff like that, to make the mechs ours.

From the artwork, seems the mech has hand mounted missile hard points, RT missiles , arm mounted ballistics and LT Lazer hard points.
