You're the first one to re-contact us. We haven't heard anything from anyone else from the old unit yet. Hopefully they'll start coming out of the woodwork.

Meanwhile Jace did some demoknighting and solly, firestorm did some pybro and engy action.
Although the TF2 action might end as our members get stolen from me, into the clutches of Diablo 3, which I haven't planned on buying. But Nexuiz is coming out for me to play, I still got free copies I'll be giving away soon, check my thread in jettisoned comms.

I have been a gamer for as long as I can remember (Spectrum 48k FTW!) and have played most shooter/tactical shooters I can lay my hands on. I have no real knowledge about the MW universe apart from what KJCrow has been explaining to me on the bus to work in the mornings and from when we play World Of Tanks in the evenings but am interested in the genre and looking to learn. I used to play Medal of Honor competitively way back when and more recently World of Tanks.
Why you're interested in the Aces:
Crow said you guys are the coolest kids in town and as I am a "sprightly young go get em kinda gamer" I thought you sounded ideal...ok I'm 36 and I have no idea what cool is anymore but I wanna blast large metal robots with other equally badass metal robots and learn the game as I go along.
What division you are interested in:
Being relatively new to the MW universe I am unsure where best to "place my hat", Crow and I talked about a Hunchback as a good starting point, after having gamed with me on WOT he knows my playstyle best so will probably start with that. Lots of stuff to look at but will probably find my niche as I get more experience.
Ramistrov.
Ps. No I am not Russian, UK.

A little about your experience with MechWarrior and BattleTech, or team games in general:
MW4 Mercenaries constantly for about 6 months back in 2009 when I was supposed to be doing university work, but I have forgotten pretty much everything since then because of reasons. There was also MW3 at the tender young age of 11, but that never really went anywhere serious. In general, I play a lot of team-based games such as TF2, Battlefield
Why you're interested in the Aces:
Blame KJ. He reignited my fondness for Mechwarrior after meeting him at 'that place what he works at'. Things escalated from there, and I've gradually been filling the ever-present holes in my BT knowledge.
What division you are interested in:
Diamond. Planning to main a Catapult to re-familiarise myself with long range engagements after coming to the unfortunate realisation that a Nova Cat probably isn't going to be an option for quite a long while.
The only foreseeable problem I have is that my presence on TeamSpeak is going to be determined by whether or not my mother is home. It won't prevent me from actually playing, just using VoIP.
Any other questions, PM me. Hope I can be of some use to you.

A little about your experience with MechWarrior and BattleTech, or team games in general - in particular League play:
To save you guys a wall of text, I've played every PC Mechwarrior title since Mechwarrior 1, including the Mechcommander titles. I also have played the tabletop for nearly 15 years, and similar experience with reading the novels. Where some guys nerd out over Star Trek (which is a fine show), I was a 'mech-head. (Edit: I forgot about MWLL, I never actually tried this one).
League play, I've never really played many online titles beyond casually except for MMOs. In every one, I've always been in a position of some responsibility (I led a raid guild in the Unspeakable Game for over 6 years). Team-work is nothing new to me, though some of the strategies might be.
Finally, I'm a firm believer in Solon's Maxim, "Learn to obey before you command." I believe that it is better to follow orders, even if they sound wrong, than to openly question them during a match. It's easier to discuss it after the match, when such a discussion could not exacerbate a bad situation.
Why you're interested in the Aces:
I've seen some posts from you guys around on the forums in various threads, and most appear to be either well thought-out constructive arguments or jocular commentary. The first is something I strive for, and the second is already second-nature to myself.
I also like that you have a unique unit name, which says to me that you both care about the unit and don't feel you need to ride the coattails of an established unit to be recognized.
What division you are interested in:
This is a hard one for me, however I think I would prefer (and be most effective with) being a Spade. I would not mind giving Recon a try, however I think I would best used in a Raiding type of role or Scout guard in a heavier, nimble 'mech like a Dragon or an Unseen-type Medium.
I could also play as a Heart or Club as needed, but I'm an admittedly terrible sniper, so you don't want me as a Diamond.
Availability:
I work full-time and live on the West Coast, with Thurs/Fri as days off. Days I work, I would not be able to log on before 8pm PST and would likely be logging off by 12am PST. Thursdays are the day I share off with my girl, so I may be erratic in reliability there, depending upon her mood(s).
Finally, there may be some periods where I may have to work serious overtime at work, however I can usually give a tentative heads up for major projects/etc. Sometimes it hits the fan for little reason, but I do my best not to let anyone down.
I did have a couple of questions about the unit though, as I tend to join a unit for the duration:
When the Clans come out, assuming that it is an option, are you guys planning on sticking with the Inner Sphere or joining the Clans?
Do you guys plan on organizing matches at certain times? If so, what days/times?
Well, it looks like you guys got a wall of text anyway. I hope someone actually reads it.

As for organizing games at certain times, that's something we haven't really discussed yet. At the moment, we're trying to organize a weekly Megamek game on Fridays at 8:00PM Pacific, but we haven't committed to any times for playing MWO. It sounds like MWO might not require (and/or make practical) the advance scheduling and commitments that the NBT league used anyway.

Excellent, I long ago lost any desire to play a Clanner, thanks for the info. Also, who doesn't love a good game of Megamek?
