I really liked the fluff write-up on this 'mech. The Mechwarrior knew she had to stay back from the main-line because the Awesome has little for close range combat. I do love this 'mech from TT Battletech, but until we learn more about the implementation of the PPC minimum range, I'm going to try to hold off my excitement for it. It is nice to see the old girl!

"Awesome" ... nuff said!
With the Commando, the Awesome is by far FD's best redesign. Simply awesome!

Now we need a Liao-Mech. Vindicator would be nice!

Did you notice the Catapult?

He's just role-playing a shifty Cappie, nothing to see here. ^_~

Awesome: it does exactly what it says on the tin. Wonder which variants we'll get to go with the 8Q?

Nice to see the Awesome. Nice long range assault. I had a feeling I would be seeing this one. My question though is, light and mediums pretty much were the work horse of any unit, and out numbered heavies and assualts at least 2 to 1. Why are we not seeing more lights and mediums?

Maybe you do not know how to pilot one? Seriously, an experienced pilot, who can manage heat, and know when to fire, mainly as a support mech, can do some serious damage with an Awesome. :)

Looks good guys. I like how its got a nice simple look to it without too much crap hanging off the body and all. Cant wait to try it out.

And now for the Liao mech. Steiner has Atlas, FWL has Awesome, Daviots have Centurion, Kuritans have Jenner and Dragon.

We need a proper mech to fight in, too. :)

Gotta be the Raven next. I know we've had a coupla lights already, but with all the talk of role-warfare, it's a sure-fire choice:
  • It's iconic.
  • It's made by Liao
  • It has an ECM suite and a Beagle probe

isn't it great, when the "hate-boys" begin to flame the fan-boys?
yeah, most people like the awesome, some don't... and i don't know where your problem with this mech is.
3 ppc's? well, let's take a look at this:
"PPCs are equipped with a Field Inhibitor to prevent feedback which could damage the firing unit's electronic systems. This inhibitor degrades the performance of the weapon at close ranges of less than 90 meters."
so... sound's more like a long range weapon more or less... nothing more than the catapult, 30 LRM... if you disable the FI, you blow your own guns to pieces... no comment ^^
And think of the heat from 3 ppc's...

i don't see a problem with the awesome, he's iconic, and more than 1 alpha-strike isn't possible, so, evade the first alpha and there's no problem... well, during the time the hs need to allow a second one ofcourse :)

the design is great, look's more evil if you compare it to the "original" design ^^ great work FD

The -8T and -8V variants are pretty nice - I'd be happy if we had those!:)

I'm trying to figure out what you said there, but I'm having a hard time - I'm not gonna lie. Are you asking whether the Awesome mounts other weapons aside from the PPC? The answer is yes:
