Oldschool BTMU* crew checking in.

Hey Scip, where is Cort?

Valen what's up?!

I have yet to email Cort about this MWO thing... will do so tonight.

Dirk! Another familiar face...

/edit -- Random memory...

Driving around in a STH-1D at 114kph or so, and looping around time and again to attempt charge attacks against just about anything. **** that was a devastating mechanic :)

Hmm Scip, I seem to remember you running around at 114kph or so and falling down, cockpit crit, and losing a brand new stealth........

Just saying

Hey Folks, crazy seeing the old names out there.

Scip emailed me the link, I will have to do some poking around this weekend.

SORT OF. :)
IIRC we had taken out a couple of mechs on a patrol and I had taken a head hit... so I had this cool breeze in my face which was causing my eyes to water enough that I ran into a slight cliff and finished myself off :D

Speaking of old Memories, I remember my Lucky Vindicator, first night of a new realspace site. I had been assigned a VND-1R by my faction (CC), and a dozen of us go out inder Arm's command. We travel about an hour, and beat up one LC force, then get flanked by about 20 mechs. We'd been travelling away fom the CC base for about an hour. I somehow managed to successfully run away, fighting all the while (and scattering damage across a half dozen mechs while I fled, and ended up being the sole survivor of that 12 mechs that went out. Without a single scratch on the VND. I piloted that mech for the entire scenario. Got 5 kills in it, and it never took a single point of damage for the entire scene.

Loved that ride,

Cadmann_Weyland from BTECH 3056. I started in the FRR 3rd Drak0ns but was moved to the 2nd Kavelleri when they discovered I really prefered the faster 'medium 'mechs. Was a Pilot of a PXH-1D during my time there.

Anyone else still actively piloting on a MU*? I'm on btmux.com 2950, which has some great active development going on with great new features and commands being added all the time.

I'm lousy at coming up with names, but the name should be rather unique and descriptive.

Guess we've got a few months before we have to have something nailed down though.

Oh yeah, I also went by Balthazar Santiago... I don't remember any other names that I used. I recognize some of the names on here, hopefully we'll be able to do a MU* Old school group. No promises I'll actually be any good though.

Wow, glad I got pointed to this thread. Not sure if I remember a lot of you but some names seem familiar, getting older and all that.

Roboute Guilliman for a long time, but I believe I started in DC on 3030? Kyvn Starkiller or something like that? That was my first one, anyway.

Then there was the one with the crawlers? You guys remember that? That's when I switched to RG, and I think I was Kung Pow on the arena style one where you bought your way up the mech ladder.

Anyone who never played these games really missed out.

+whee, man this bring back a blast from the past.

Sure miss some of the old times on the MU*s. Heck I even came 30mins late for my sisters confirmation because I was opping

nothing like idling in the RT and some comp/mine pops and we all scramble out the hangers just to have Arm go, "hold up, i need to take a dump" then we all sit there at the gate for 20min, hehehe good times!

I remember them to. The old ascii text maps were a ball. There was a quarter in college that I don't recall the classes, but I remember heading down to the comp lab to play with battletech.

Oh man, that brings back memories. I've been in a few Btch Muxs. I remember taking my first steps in a Phoenix Hawk in Realspace. The sweet, sweet taste of my first real kill. And how freaking annoying those damned V-TOLS and hovercraft were. Freaking J-Edgars....

If I remember correctly, my first mux was either 3025 or 3030? It's been a long while. People were still fairly active in the evenings back then. I tried getting back into it like, maybe a year ago, but very few people were playing. It's too bad, those games really got tense too.

If someone makes a unit for old Muxers, count me in.

I would be up for running with a group of MUxxers. Being in a merc unit can be fun (old times come back, being in the Roadrunners was a ball...).

You mention the V-TOLs, yeah flying Warriors around harassing people was a ball. I also remember at one of the preplanned mass fights having a frigging Hollander blow the head off my mech at the start of the fight (less fun)...
