Jenner, Raven and Cicada are pretty good mechs if right configured and right played. Now without collision they are really dangerous.

The Gaussapult is very effective, but I wouldn't say overpower.

I will choose Jenner over the gausspult. But both are feared by everyone!

In terms of general prowess it's a toss up between an Atlas and a Jenner depending on scenario. 1 v 1 these mechs are generally the most difficult to deal with.

Weakest in beta atm is the Commando and that is unlikely to change until they add the flea.

If you can pilot and aim it's the Cicada with 5 MPL, 300 XL, 17 DHS and ES. 130.6 kph with speed tweak.
Not only can you rip Jenners apart, you can stay on any 50 ton+ all day and pound them with 30 damage to CT or rear CT over and over.
The best they will do is rake you with some laser fire while you core them.
Admittedly 1/10 Jenner pilots are nasty, but 9/10 you will own with this rig.
Make sure you hug buildings and caves, so the LRM boats don't tear you a new one.
Also if you see a streakapult with full armor, avoid it. Once they are damaged a bit, go in for the kill.
Let's do something more interesting like a 8 man team of mechs that is most OP'd

Not even streak cat owns all, I know because I play one. I fear no mechs in my streakcat.

removal of collisions is in effect a light buff so i'll say for now the jenner is OP for its weight for sure.

I don't find many Atlai to be very difficult to deal with in my Jenner. I feel almost unstoppable in my Jenner until I either get outnumbered 3+ to 1 or spotted by a decent Gausscat pilot, or within range of any Streakcat.

So I have the temptation to say Streakcat but thinking about outside my cockpit, anything with a greater reach can handle 'em no problem. I have trouble because the pilot of one can afford to suck ***, balls & **** & still take me down because my weapons don't have the range. I have to be within' 180 metres to do any damage & 90 to do max damage. I do find that the SSRMs seem to leave the mech at angles that a missle couldn't possibly, but really my speed in the Jenner gives me a better option against them unless I'm the only one left. I can either work on something else until there's an opportunity to outnumber it, or let a farther reaching teammate get it without going within range of its weapons. Another possibility is take the arms off but that's not always easy.

If I were gonna pick one though I'd still go with the StreakCat because it can be pretty quick, very well armored, JJs, farthest twist of any mech in game so far & the pilot can suck while being very deadly. They don't really have to aim or worry about leading targets or holding on target when firing, they just lock it, keep it in sight & fire continuously so you lose all your marbles. I'd just say it's an easy mech to pilot, but anything with a rep for being OP should also be accompanied by prejudice & be turned into a high priority target by all.

You...you people apparently don't know how to shoot for the center torso. I've been cored out too many times to count by a direct ballistic hit in my Jenners. Yea, most Light Mechs with upgraded engines take glancing hits from energy and missile weapons, but one-two good shots with an AC/10 or AC/20 to the torso gets you every time. Remember the price for our 280-300 rated engines: A loss of armor, and/or increased fragility.

That, or the netcode hates us all. >>

I hit plenty of jenners with ac20, it makes the heavy hit sound and the outcome is 0 damage. I don't think the ac20 is bugged, just the netcode protecting the jenner.

This is why I'm not playing my drg-1n right now. GR 2srm-4's 2mlas, but with the new netcode of this patch my shots miss 50% of the time. While firing at light mechs, or any fast mech which is why I have resorted to a streakcat. And I'm glad I did, because before, I didn't even want to play anymore.

I think a laser boat cicada is better.

Bu streaks are pretty great.

Its definitely down between those two, I think.

The jenner is not OP, i agree with one of the other posters and as a jenner pilot myself, we do fear streakcats and good cicada pilots. What I mean to get across is that they have weaknesses. Oh and of course other jenners are a great match up.

Netcode hates us all, yep. Except for Jenner Pilots minus one, apparently.

I really miss going bowling for Jenners. Ramming them over is so much more fun than repeatedly getting shot in the back by them.
