I`ve made a Stalker with 6xPPC and XL280 (Hilarious, I know), and it overheats on the second alpha (so after 3 seconds)

85010,18,72,20,56,16,56,16,56,56,33,33,208,0,0,208,0,0,104,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,208,0,0,104,0,0,104,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,208,0,0,104,0,0,104,0,0,208,0,0,208,0,0,104,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,104,0,0,0,0,0,x000,a1,b1,c1,d1,e2,f2,g,h,i,j,k,l,2280

But according to the spreadsheet, it has TTOH: 4,19 and ATOH: 4. I think those algorithms should be updated.

Have you thought about adding a donate through paypal button? I use this on all of my configurations before I buy them, and I feel like it has saved me a few bucks by being able to play with a mech before I buy it with MC (then realizing I don't really like the hardpoints or whatever).

Also, the stats per weapon group are great. That was a fantastic idea.

TTOH calculates based on HPS values. PPCs generate heat instantaneously. It normally isn't an issue unless you're dealing with very short periods. I am sure there is a mathmatical way to take this into account, but I haven't taken a math course in some 5 years or so. If anyone knows how I am all ears.

I will take a look at the ATOH, it should be giving 2, it likely needs a revisit.

TLDR: your build broke it. Also if you put <>code tags around the builds string it will wrap it.

You flatter me. It is quite a compliment to give something away and someone like it enough to offer to pay for it!

I do this because I enjoy it and I have the means. I will never ask for donations nor accept them. What you ask, is one of the best compliments I could receive, but I cannot accept money for my efforts (and the efforts of all that have given advice, data, or time). Rather if you feel the need to donate, I would simply ask you give to a local charity. I hope this does not come off as snide or unappreciative, but know that your asking to donate is more than enough to keep me going.

Thank you.

Well, I don't have a solid grip on it yet, but what could serve as a starting point:

The number of times a weapon will have fired after x seconds is
1 + ROUND_DOWN(x / [Total Recycle Time]).

Not sure where to go from there. I haven't taking any math classes in 6 or more years either.

That's an amazing tool. Thank you very much.

I'm rather new to this game and I was just happy to get a tool like that. It became a game in itself: playing around in your excel MechLab, trying to figure out the best build or just making some absolutely insane setups... It's both fun and useful since it saves some money (CBills in my case) and time — MechLab in actual game isn't as good as this one in terms of compiling a build quickly. And it certainly doesn't give as much data as yours.

I try and limit it to 1 download a week. Unless they make drastic changes with the next patch you should see v1.78 early next week. (probably wont patch with christmas).

It will have the orion fyi.

Forgive me for a dumb question, but how do I get the password to unlock the spread sheet? I'm trying it for the first time tonight.

I've noticed an issue with ATOH. With 9 medium lasers, 18 double heat sinks, 260 standard engine, and elite efficiencies, I can only manage 2-3 alphas before overheating. However, the spreadsheet states that I should be able to do 11 alphas before overheating. You may need to reexamine how this figure is calculated.

Another bug I found is with the CTF-IM (the Ilya Muromets). It comes with an XL 280 Engine instead of a standard 240 and it doesn't have Endo Steel or DHS. The ammo placement is slightly different from the actual IM, but I don't recall where they were originally as I have already modded mine, but I think there's 1 ton of AC/10 ammo in the RT, 1 ton of AC/10 ammo in the CT, 1 ton of AC/5 ammo in the CT, and 2 tons of AC/5 ammo in the LT.

While we are on the matter of Cataphracs, the largest engine one can install is the Standard/XL 340. However, you can only selected up to an Standard/XL 335 in the spreadsheet.

EXCEL'ENT WORK 3rdworld!!! (see what i did there?) :(

Keep it up mate, i use nothing but your spreadsheet for think-tanking mech builds.
Your effort and updates to the spreadsheer are VERY much appreciated!!

I also find that the totals when calculating Ferro Fibrous armor doesn't line up with what the game actually allows. On a CN9-AL with 9 tons of FF, the spreadsheet would give you 324 points, but the game will only allow 322 points. I would imagine the discrepancy will only get larger when you're dealing with larger amounts of FF. The game seems to use a value of 35.778/ton but the spreadsheet uses 36/ton.

...and for those of you who do not have Excel, like me, there is a web based mechlab tool. No download, no proprietary programs, or any other prerequisites... and It's kept up to date, really easy to use, and covers everything you can possibly do with a mech in the mechlab.

Here is Excel Mech Lab v1.78.xlsm

Additions:
  • Orion
Some error fixes:
  • CTF-IM, wrong stock engine
  • Highlander, wrong stock engine
  • Upped Heat Containment to 10%
  • ATOH should be correct
Known Issues:
  • FF armor calculates @ 36ppt, in actuality it is only 35.84. I have not corrected because the +- armor below the totals is turning into an absolute beast to calculate with the non whole number. Your armor vs the sheet with FF may vary slightly (usually 1-2 points on most mechs that generally use FF).
  • TTOH: Calculates based on HPS, so high heat alpha designs may show something like 3.98TTOH instead of the correct 3TTOH as the second shot overheats the mech. Again, I want to fix, but the math has proven difficult.

YES!

I have been looking all over for something like this. I have tinkered with my mechs so much I don't remember what the original build looked like. YAY Now I can put the back to vanilla (and start tinkering all over again!!!!)
