I feel that forming a "Davion Millitary" will be extremely hard. For one, what reason will people have to join? Because as it was said earlier, everyone has their own ideas on how things should be done

Well that's a shame. It looked to me like you and Vandal had moved past it all and were having an actually useful discussion that was on topic.

Also, in terms of said discussion, it's worth noting that being an egomaniacal sociopath doesn't preclude you from being an effective leader. As long as their goals are in the right direction I mean.

Hush up and actually post a thing contributing to the thread instead of all these super boring white noise sycophant posts, it's a code of conduct violation.

I gotta wonder exactly what would happen if you do choose to go down the path of a decentralized, alliance-based chain of command and an admitted alliance simply stops performing to a level of satisfaction accepted by the other members. Would you be able to kick them out or would that situation betray the principles of equality the group was founded on? It's not inconceivable that an alliance might see member burnout as time goes on. In fact, it's almost guaranteed.

I'm going to start naming your different personalities just so I know who, or what, I'm talking to. I'll think of the names later on, but for now this mode shall be Bob.

So, Bob, you think that any form or organized command is immune to problems of their own? If you do then that is purely misguided because all forms of control and order have their own problems. A decentralized command structure is much more appropriate for a game community so large and diverse because it prevents elitist brats from controlling things l like they're masters of the universe and pushing away new players due to "a lack of skill or experience."

View PostVandal, on 18 June 2012 - 10:47 PM, said:

See this? Off topic, harassment, dumb as hell. Please stop.

The question was more about the situation in which one alliance is falling far behind the rest in terms of skill or ability, I was just using player burnout as a possible origin for that situation.

Well, Bob/Steve/Dave, you're guilty of multiple accounts of coming from far left field yourself so you really have no room to talk "Yo Man". Really though, I'd like to study what kind of brain activity you have it must be like a Christmas-Tree with all sorts of colors going in and out because WOW... you jump around a lot. Did you forget your meds or something?

We have discussed this thread over and over again. I have read it from the first posting and see that it says AFFS CoC. I know that sometimes it's hard comprehend with someone of your intellect without the Mace from above, but your points are falling on deaf ears. If the AFFS will have a CoC or not is mute? If the Devs build in a CoC is in the future? People will go their own way regardless of what you people in The Capellan Confederation have to say. We are talking about House Davion not House Liao (pardon: House Lowtax whatever that is). CoC's can be a good thing given the right circumstance; however, Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one.[color=#000000]

Please answer my question about the topic.

If an alliance member is falling short of whatever goal is set forth in the alliance there are several options to take : Try to get a better unit to help their members get better.

Try to help them identify their weaknesses so they can get better in house.
Try to switch up the alliance focus and let the "weaker" team fight "weaker" enemies and have your "stronger" team engage the teams that were giving the other alliance members problems.

im sure I could come up with more given enough time. The point is Its better to help them out than to kick them out, if that is what you were referring to.

Regardless, any alliance, CoC, or individual unit needs good leadership.

interesting statement considering your reference to Hitler. Ironically was a great motivational speaking and NON-COMBAT leader. It was his lack of combat leadership that lost him the war...if he would have trusted his generals and let them do their job, the world would be alot different.

It's very true that our great leader THE MITTANI, is in fact quote adept at leadership while being an egomaniacal sociopath super cool fun buddy and also friend to all birds, as seen in EVE. I think it's actually better to have a strong central leader than a disparate group of less effective, more independent leaders that may or may not be counted upon in a crisis.

To the neglected citizens of the Federated Suns, shadowed in ignorance, feudalism, and illiteracy, I, The Mittani of House Lowtax, Coordinator (Chancellor, too) of the Capellan Confederation, King of Space, King of Internet Robots, the Worst Person On The Internet, Scourge of Man-Children, and Feathered-God-King of the Tetatae, bequeath unto you the following sage wisdom:

"Single autocrat backed by a team structure to avoid burnout; abhor democracy, councils and e-honor."

It is with this wisdom that I have gently guided the beating hearts of some nine thousand internet spaceship pilots and managed a coalition of some additional twenty thousand though various no-holds-barred internet space wars. I give you this wisdom as a gift, knowing full well that you will probably be unable to read these words, but fear not! As Coordinator/Chancellor, once I bring the sacred Word of Lowtax to your feudal colonies, I will implement the same universal education and health care that your own leaders have failed to provide your neglected citizenry, so that you may one day read this sacred post and bask in the glory my House.

I wish you all the best in your internet robot-driving endeavors, with the proviso that we are going to do our level best to, er, level your House.

Yours in TENBUX,
