I have been in countless matches now where someone is piloting the yen and they are getting grief for spending cash on it and how bad it is...WHO CARES if someone wanted to (not that they can of course) paint there mech pink does it really matter? I may even buy the yen myself because it has a cool paint job, more money than sense? probably but it still doesn't really matter does it.

Lets just let people enjoy doing whatever they want to do please!

We care, because anyone dumb enough to pay 20 dollars for a Yellow Wang is not going to be any sort of credit to his or her team.

People haven't shot at my Wang yet. They let me play with it in peace most of the time.

To be specific, we will leave allied Wangs alone. [well, we will mock them in our VOIP chat but you won't hear it]

Enemy Wangs are public enemy #1 for Kong though.

Some people have money to burn and like to collect mechs. I am not one of them but, it is their money so, what should it matter? I guess you think people that will pay for paint jobs, bobble heads, and what not are also stupid huh?

It matters because the Yellow Wang is just a bad mech.

If it had a working melee hatchet, i'd have bought it, but it's just a inferior AH with a giant target pointing to where to shoot to neuter it's big guns.

Maybe it would be worth 5 dollars, but not 20.

I haven't encountered anything like what OP is describing. I don't use the Wang but I have never heard anyone discriminating against them.

I'm going to go buy one this evening simply because you made this insipid post. I may never even use it, but it sure will look nice in my mech bay next to my founder's mechs.

THIS
and it does look nice next to my founders mech's.

Disclaimer: I take no stance regarding anything said in this thread.

That said, I personally find it hilarious that people would grief YLW pilots for any of the aforementioned reasons whatsoever.

Now let's please lock this thread, and be done with it mods.

I think it is just the pilots short comings that have them complaining about the Wang. I have a yen lo and I ran it til I got all elite slots unlocked. My Kill/Death was around 44/7 and I averaged about 760 xp per game. I had no issues with this mech being inferior or etc. And with the cbill bonus I made a hefty sum during that run...In a skilled Cent mech pilots hands the yen lo is very deadly and very hard to kill.

I have a question about the Yen Lo Wang. Will our accounts be wiped upon full release? Will buying the mech now be a waste?

I've never seen anyone get mad at someone for driving a Yellow Wang, given that they're quit possibly the worst Medium Mech in the game. Admittedly, we do make fun of them, but it's not because they're Pay-to-Win.

YelloWang is more like "Pay 2 B Mediocre." Just like every Centi, they lose their arm constantly.

And then it is a mech with two chestlasers. Yes, you might kill me with two chestlasers, but you are no longer important.

At least the 30% CB boost is nice for zero-repair farming.

did somebody notice that doing far less the wang mostly tops at 300,000 a match even if it does just a medicore job
were as i top in a founders mech at 300.000 if its only a super awesome round!
so i guess something is more off then just 5%

You all in this thread and person I quoted really make me chuckle and feel good. As I have stated previously, I have run nothing but Cent/Wang since open beta. I am 106/27 in kill/death. And you are wrong about the arm on at least 2 of my Cent I have no weapons in the arms. But please keep shooting them off and give me more time to kill you while you shoot off useless arms :-)

So I pose it again, is it the mech that is bad? Or the people piloting them? I seem to do just fine in mine.

I've been running a yella wang with

endo steel
ferro fiberous
2x mpl
switching between gauss and ac/20 with
4 tons ammo
ams 1 ton.
standard 200 engine (the downgrade really just to fit the gauss when i want it).
its kills well, and usually will absolutely last untill the end of a match losing or winning
as previously stated an xl engine feels like im asking to be one shotted.
it tops out at 64 kmph but i haven't really needed to run away from anything, (maybe heavy's but i don't need an xl for that)
and complaining about paying for it is silly. I won't explain, its funny watching people cry, clearly not understanding.

If I have to guess, I would say both. I would like to think that good pilots in general will know better than to spend $15 on a worst-in-class Medium.

You literally have a Hunchback 4G, unequivocally the worst Hunchback, except with a ballistic hardpoint that's even easier to cut off and less laser hardpoints to work with. Worst comes to worse, when both of you get neutered the 4G will at least have one of its lasers mounted on an arm.

i like my wang even more since the LRM change even i would say by alot
since he doesnt get so often now hailed by lrm rain weakining arm and torso !
and as mentioned before iget muuuuuch more often games with 300k cbill reward !!!

since ppl forget that AC20 in a durable fast mech can be a dang hurt :)
