Since we all know the Clan fans want their Mad Cat(Timber Wolf) I'm going to give it to them. In a hypothesis it should be possible to do this with the CPLT-C1 Catapult in MW:O.

Model: CPLT-MC
Name: Matapult
Class: Heavy
Estimated Cost: 9,740,585 C-bills
Mass: 65 Tons
Armor: 11 tons of Ferro Fiberous
Speed: 86.4 km/h
Heat Sink: 21
Weapons:

2x Lrm 10
2x Large Laser
2X Medium Laser
1x Medium Pulse Laser

I used to use a very similar configuration in MW4. You know, before I got the REAL Mad Cat. It really doesn't compare.

For the limitations in place, not a bad substitute. You got near the armor by a ton, same speed, and a decent amount of the armament. Kudos.

Honestly, I think a variant based on the Marauder would make more sense. Same tonnage, has more room and all that.

I wanted to use something that is actually confirmed to be in the game, but ts funny you should mention the Marauder.

Mass: 69.8/75 Tons
Armor: 12.3 tons of Ferro Fiberous

Heat Sink: 21
Weapons:

2x Large Laser
2X Medium Laser
2x Machine Gun w/ 2 tons of ammo
1x Medium Pulse Laser

Nonononono, let me show your, Timber Wolf fans.

Catapult: "Requesting in-field modification, are there any Atlas and Firestarter pilots on this frequency, over?"
Atlas: "Rodger."
Firestarter: "Affirmative. We will bring the salvage."

The Atlas pulls the arms off a Marauder corpse and holds it against the Catapults' hip with its hands. Firestarter welds it shut with Flamer fuel, and repeats the process with the otherside. Wallah, heavy chickenwalker with 2 arms, 2 missile racks.

I'm pretty sure there is a variant of the marauder that does have missile racks...

Granted it looks like "special" sibling of the Timberwolf if you consider the Catapult and Marauder the parents...

... I KNOW I've seen the image posted in the forums, too!

If there's a way to shoe-horn a PPC into each side torso of the Catapult, I might just pull the JJ's on mine and roll with an IS knock-off of the the Mad Cat Delta.

(For those that don't remember or know, the Delta runs two ER PPC with 4 Streak SRM 6, in MWO, all the missiles would/will point forward, much like MW3).

The problem is the Rakshasa came out AFTER the Clan invasion, and honestly was horrible. The Timberwolf fanbois are trying to find a suitable replacement before they can simply hop into a real Timberwolf. But really the only two viable options are the Catapult and Marauder.

The MAD-9M; design year is 3068 from what I can tell. Carries 4 ERLL, and 2 SSRM-6 (Also a TAG and a BAP, but only goes 4/6, opposed to the Timber Wolf's 5/8).

This was actually the picture I was referring too that looked like the Timberwolf's "special" sibling. Thanks for finding it!

And yes, this is about as close as you fanbois can get to the real thing before the Clan Invasion arrives. Just cross your fingers the Marauder makes its debut along with this variant for 'mechlab tweaking or you'll have to take the OP's Catapult (Which honestly, isn't half bad!).

No, but the 9M is canonical and depending on when it was initially developed, could be in the game at launch - allowing the user to swap out the SRMs for LRMs in the MechLab. :P
