Bryan, could you just clarify something regarding the DHS fix?

You state that the bonus is now reduced to 1.4 instead of two. I assume that 1.4 refers to the bonus that increases the heat threshold (the amount of heat you can generate before shutting down). Does this also mean that you are reducing the 0.2 bonus to heat dissapation to 0.14?

I think the best way to go about DHS would be this:

SHS - +1 Heat threshold / +0.1 heat dissipation
DHS - +1 Head threshold / +0.14-0.2 heat dissipation

this way you can stack SHS more for a higher threshold (for heavier mechs that rely on a huge amount of SHS, but also makes lighter mechs who can use DHS to dissipate the heat faster, but they will probably have less of a threshold and will overheat with bigger weaps

I'll have to ask David to explain how all the calculations are done.

Thanks for replying. If at all possible you could find out, it makes a huge difference to how DHS work.

If its just the 1.4 reduction to heat dissipation and you keep the 0.2 bonus to heat dissapation, then thats a pretty cool fix. DHS are still worth taking but also mean you have to manage your heat (you still can fire only the same amount of times as with SHS, however you will cool quicker. This means that many stock builds that rely on DHS (Awesome 9M et al will still be viable but not OP)

We already have DOMINATION of Jenner\HunchBack\Catapult premades - i have a right to be a little pessemistic :)

jenners are weird as they can achieve the most mobility and carry the highest fire power of the lights and still be reasonably armored. For the most part we dont have a large selection so some seem to be better as we havent added the rock to their scissors

approx how much larger is Desert compared to Forest? 200%? 500%?

Off the top of my head, about 1.25-1.5x larger than Caustic, which is 2x larger that Forest.

I believe many Modules are uique in their own right, and different Mech variants can only have so many modules installed at a given time. So, even if any Mech can load ECM, the e-warfare specialists will be able to mount MORE uniuque modules than a non-e-warfare variant.

Few people can afford a single module to begin with let alone multiples of them.

see i get that...really... but most mechs have at least 2 slots, + the master... ppl would be stupid NOT to add ECM to one of them...if that´s possible^^

since the sticky of rolewarfare came up, i was thinking about it as more or less a "skill specialization" to determine what you do on the field... so what i would like to see in the future, is that scouts/ ewf mechs use ECM to support their team... but until something like that happens, stuff like ECM CAN be a gamebreaker... i say CAN, because i have faith^^

To Prosperity Park:
We got a problem here - unless PGI exapand TT rules, we have NO e-warfare equipment outside BAP\ECM pair...

They are adding some unique things like enhanced zoom, base capture rate enhancers, etc. I don't have a full list or anything.

It is called "Pilot Skills Tree" - like ability to appear "ShutDown" for several seconds in Scout Skill Tree (which, if i remember correctly, starts with Zoom perk)... And, while it seems very potent , it is also look vary bleak, compared even to TT ECM.

He's working offsite on skins/camo patterns. So far so good. Saw our first camo, a dazzle pattern. Looking good. :)

That's not his skin. But I figured I'd post a cool debug shot

Battlefield 3 was a disaster and more problemmatic upon release than what DICE called the alpha phase. It took nearly 6 months for them to iron out most of the serious issues. And that game had an enourmous budget being financed by the largest video games publisher in the world. The "consumer preview" for Windows 8 had a lot of interface bugs, and that is a rather simplistic design from one of the worlds' largest software developers. Apple released both iOS 5 and 6 with an array of bugs. I could go on and on. Your expecations are clearly out of line with reality. Everything is substantially more complicated than 5, let alone more, years ago and you expect a small developer like PGI to best the the kingpins of the tech world? For the size of their team and budget, I think they have done a great job.

QFT and all of you who play/played LoL.Take hero who was there from the begining...let say Ryze(I think he was 1st hero added with patch). Is he still the same? There was a(let say it like Phreak)TONS of patches and hero have different form/gameplay/usability that he had ať 1st patch. And you guys who b1tching about everything what PGI do for you think it will be the same when full release will come?Or it will be same after 5 years of developing? No way and we can only hope this game will be that great and succesful as games like LoL,CS:Source/1.6,SC2 etc... and we will be able to play it at great tournaments and be famous like eSuba/SK/AZB :)

And no I am NOT PGI fan...i just love BattleTech franchise and i wish this game will be succesful :).
Just be patient.

Dear Bryan

Still p.o.'d about the "1.4" sinks. Will be happy to prove that they are horribly broken by using ppcs and ERLL for evidence.

Sincerely yours
-Someone who simply just wants to use a PPC and not feel like an *****.

P.S. Gauss are not OP, they just have NO competitors in the ranged direct fire departement, please fix AC10's/PPC's
P.P.S Will also mount AMS+ECM on every mech, ever -- because LRMs are still way off imo.

Is it the viewpoint of the camo maker tool, or will we be able to turn our mechs in the mechlab, even if just for the already mentioned tool?

Bryan if you inquire about the DHS 1.4 value, could you also inquire what the forumla behind the Basic Skill "Heat Containment" is? It's only containing text ingame and shows no % stuff, and some people like to go all excel on some things :) Posted Image

Thanks it would be appreciated :).
