LRMs are fine - where's the problem?

Equiping the ArtemisIV FCS gives LRMs their old closed beta trajectory. They fly straight up in a sharp arc and come straight down on top of your target. Basically like modern-day artillery missiles.

Unfortunately, this has the side effect of rendering most cover in a map useless due to not being tall enough. You'll have to find a tunnel, bridge, or very tall structure. I shudder for every caustic drop.

So they dont charge money and there will be wipes to restore balance once the game is released? No?
Then this game is released.

It doesnt matter how you call your software. You could also call this an Alpha due to the fact they still implement incremental features. Just because you and the devs shout beta doesnt make it true.

Well, i can't post the Picture, but it showed me, killing 2 Enemies by Streaks with 0 Damage in the end screen. What ever. Hope, that hotfix will work soon.

Aside from this issue: I like the patch, good work

Do I work for them ? No.

IMO: That's their problem and frankly I don't see it as a problem. I'm here to play for free if I like it, I will create a new account and buy it if that's the case.
But I doubt that, I think your jumping the gun.

Edit: do you have proof or is a tin foil hat moment ?

Isn't Open Beta a big public test server?? They'll fix it.. I'm one of those that just soldier through and submits tickets as the need arises

No. If my team did a release like this I would expect to be fired.

Game becoming very arcadish in controls and look and feel. Needs to start swaying more in the direction of a simulation to last as a mech game. What this means, the game should be bulky and somewhat difficult to learn. It is now to easy for new players to jump in and play like its a halo game. This is destroying what a mechwarrior "slight sim" is supposed to be like.

It is said that there will be no more wipes (in your link btw) and they started selling mechs. What more proof do you need that this game is released?

Btw: its great that you play for free. But as a non paying customer you cant compare yourself to someone who possibly bought a mech with mc and cant use it due to horrible changes to the metagame.

Regular LRMs are killling it after this patch (back to where they where in June) and now Artemis+LRM is a insta-kill (Atlas requires two volleys though).

Really?

What are they thinking?

Just carry LRMS and nothing else.

Plus pay to win with rearm costs for those artemis+LRM boats too what with rearm being more than a win payout even for premium.

Only discussion if Artemis is even worth it versus standard that kill it almost as good.

I have to admit, this is probably the first patch since I started where I felt like not wanting to play the game for a while. LRMs have just become ridiculous, and I've been in so many matches were both sides were only LRMing at each other, and this was before this patch. So what do we get now? More reason to use LRMs, and less reason to use anything else. LRMs should have the damage output of, well, LRMs, not HAGs.

just to prove my point I switched over to a 3x LRM+artemis +2 mediumlasers ATLAS myself
killed in first game 4 mechs and in the second 5, sure due to the bug I did no damage so cant tell how
much damage i really did but it very well proved my point, This is ridicoulous how it works now and not even AMS help much.
sure if the opponent get in close you are gutted unless your team support you but a Atlas is hard to kill

damage is now back online and last game I did 3 kills and 3 add with 1313 damage and I just had some yellow armor when fight was over "sigh" so OP and boring, I hope they can see this.

This isn't patch feedback. Nothing changed so drastically in this patch as to alter the feel of the game.

This is just whining that the game is not what think it should be.

I hate to say it but barring the lagfest patch, this has to be one of the worst to date. Kick your alpha testers in the ca-hones.

For the LRM haters.. ..just wait until you get: ECM

...waiting
the "missle incoming" warning is annoying, just another thing to ignore.
had that blocking my screen for 30 seconds and nothing came

Who knows what they are thinking anymore. I think they are so focused on what they want to see and their vision of what Mechwarrior should be, they completely ignore the community that they are making the game for. Problem is that their vision is so skewed and is so broken that it's causing more problems and it's making the game less fun.

It reminds me of the whole Jay Wilson thing, how he always prefixed with "We think this would be more fun". Trying to dictate what is fun to your fanbase is the wrong way of going about it. Listen to your fanbase, listen to the constructive, logical criticism and idea's. Instead they are just sticking their heads in the sand it feels like.

Currently, the game is completely broken with LRMs and Artemis. It's funny to see how the things are only getting worse balance and stability-wise since July.

My FPS (AMD-HD6770) finally went back to playable in extra-high at 1080res. Both FPS and that weird choppiness of the earlier October patch are much better now. I've heard some Nvid users saying bad things though, it seems like every time one gets optimized, the other gets clunked. :/

I'm curious as to why they are making such drastic changes. Whether this is BETA or NOT anymore....you make little changes. They already jumped into the "Open" beta too soon (at least some think so)....there were a few things that needed some minor tweaking...LRM's, Streaks...perhaps longer reload time with Gauss. Fix to the double heat sinks....these were things that just needed a small amount of tweaking. Gameplay stability had seemed to steady out some....I was only getting intermittent drops to the desktop....perhaps tighten up the net code just alittle......but not fubar what was already working. We're already in the Open....why not add new mechs....and a few new maps.....and do the small tweaks.........versus the major tweaks that already break the wheel. I would think they would leave well enuf alone if it's working, and only fix some small things to tweak the game a small amount and then get some feedback....versus completely BREAKING the game. Hmm, just my 2 cents

I really do not get, what problems you guys have. That patch just means, you have to change your way you played the last weeks - on weapons, that did not work correctly. Now they do - so, what's wrong with you?

Since the patch i get more kills in an match than before, so i can't hardly say, it's a "worse patch".
