It is great not being able to play with a group of friends and enjoy the community we built.
Thank you so much.
Complain some more, I only play this game with 1 friend in real life I know. Most of the time when I try to talk in the game no one answers. That includes the team of 8 clan members who just destroy a pug team. I enjoy when I get chance to join a PUG team who interested in the game and talking. I believe this will do a lot to help out PUG players from resorting to be killed for easy points. You sound pretty selfish when the developers already laid out the game plan to fix matchmaking. Why don't you just be patient. They can't go any faster then what they are doing

if you dont like getting stomped by pre-mades and you dont like being ignored by your teammates.... then use the resources you have at hand and get on the teamspeak server that is provided for PUG's in MWO. here is the address for one of the many massive TS3 servers so you dont even need to do any work. 109.228.29.191 no port or password is needed.

Cry less, get on the public teamspeak servers more. There is only one thing to blame for having to lone wolf it in this game. That thing is YOU. Doesn't matter how much you know about the game, how well you play, what mechs you're driving, just get in the LFG channel and one of the groups will pick you up shortly thereafter.
...or you can sit in a corner and cry. /smh

You don't seem to understand my post imo.
I have no problem with random players that Participate, not randoms that Shutdown right after the match begins and afk the match.
This is the situation I am forced to deal with thanks to "only" the 4 player group option. I do not see why the 4 OR 8 player match making could not be implimented at once. There really is no good excuse for it.

Yes, there needs to be a way to report people for doing it, but crying about the matchmaking system which is in the process of being fixed is not it.

Divide them into 2 groups in game with different classes.
For example: Group 1: 2 lights 2 mediums, Group 2: 2:heavies 2 assaults
Countdown 3.2.1 and press "Launch" simultaneously
End up with a 8 man premade on the same team
We were doing it yesterday and 4 out of 5 games we ended up on the same team.
So much for "Faze 1 Matchmaker"....

I can see why Piranha want to 1) break this up and 2) make people use built-in tools every player can easily access out-of-the-box and Piranah (et al) can have some control over (is C3 up and running yet?).
I happen to hate voice comms in co-op games and the inevitable chatter of hysterical pubescent boys with breaking voices but that's my problem and I'll deal with it.

a ) I have no problem matching grp vs grp, pug vs pug. There should be no reason to delay the option for either.

I have no idea who you are referring to as I have yet to find this stereotype on voice chat for MWO to date. Perhaps you have some inside info on the current demographic for MWO?

Then you won't have to worry about them not watching your back, also how often would you lose a player after a drop anyway. Played quite a few with a group and every third rd or so we would lose a player from disconnect or fps bug or glitch of some kind, how is this any different

Before the patch people got a freedom to chose how to play. Now they dont.
This is so true! Before the patch i always had the freedom of choice between listening to random strangers voices speaking a foreign language in strange dialects intruding in my private sphere while having to wait some time for a match to begin, or getting my *** handed badly while playing a quick match with silent pugs. Right now i have no choice and am forced to play more balanced games! Please make that go away.

If you do not see why, then why don't you encode it all?
Having some coding experience myself, I can tell you that there is quite the difference between those two.
Plus, your original post sounded quite cheap. "I cannot lose. I must stomp." - Join the community, report afk-abusers, get people involved, instead of complaining about the coding.
Just my opinion.

The strong community is the foundation for years to come.
Yes but the matchmaker system was pitting the "strong community" up against disorganized noobs and casual players with moderate experience (eg me

Unfortunately, since the beta went open, if you're not part of a group/clan, you will be in team half of which scatter and charge and don't talk and have no chance. (At least when it was closed there was a reasonable chance your random lacemate had played a MW game before and knew one end of a PPG from the other.)

So as we had 8 man drops and the PUGS QQ'd... Now you must force us to play with PUGS the main reason we join groups. So why not just add them to the 8 man group.. and we will have the 12 man drop...
annoyed... still but not so much..
So why make it 4 + 4 and call it a drop.. then in a couple of weeks introduce, like it was never there, the 8 man drop and call it an extended group(raid)..
so what are you going to call a 12 man drop, if it ever comes.....??????

Yes, there is : Teams are matched by mech classes right now. If you're doing a group of, say, 2 lights, 2 mediums, 0 heavies, 4 assaults you would have to wait searching for another group with the same exact setup. In effect, your group will get a constant "No Match found"
Before the patch, you got only premade vs premade if those classes could be mostly matched. Yes, at some points there are inexplainable weight differences, but from my experience (as a 100% group player) they are rare.
So in order to match premade vs premade only, they need some system to enforce group weight spreads, or give handicaps to teams bringing less tonnage to a match or whatever, and there is no such system in place YET.

Umm, yes ? Well, it doesn't need to be Teamspeak, but regardless of the system used, MWO is a fast paced game where a well coordinated team will naturally be at a great advantage, that is just in the nature of the game. That MWO doesn't have some in-built system to do that with random groups YET is a problem, yes, but again - we're still in BETA, and C3 is supposed to fix that at some point in the future.

I just played for about four hours, and only saw it happen twice. I did see maybe 6 other no pilot mechs but those were all listed as disconnected in the team list and I don't know if that was on purpose or accident.
Annoying when it happens, but I'm not sure that zillions of people are going AFK during matches.

It's just a beta. We're play-testing a game "yet to be released". I wish it felt like that and felt less frustrating, though.

I don't like voice chat. Simple as that. Don't even own a headset. If that precludes me from enjoying a good MWO game, so be it, my problem. Disappointing though - I was hoping for a good MW experience again, having played all the previous games.

Wow Why would handicap someone that bring a lighter drop weight to a match... drop weight are max weight not minimum weight..
But yes I would like to see a match making system that gives a drop weight total, then you have 30 sec to select a Mech that will get you group to that weight... then a random map is selected and you get to choose from 5 drop zones... randomly selected to be not on top of the opposing team.. once this is selected again 10sec or random zone selected.. the match drops and begins..
Yes this system will favor a premade group but it would be great some control of what you are going into... I would also like the weight to be offset randomly so no one knows which team has the heavier weight...

I think that you don't know how it works
the problem is that is too easy to win against pugs with a premade team... if we reduce for 4x4, what difference it will make ?
the devs are still working on the matchmaking system
they have nerfed the group to make it easier to pugs... but we will have the 8 man group again soon, but when they do that, we will be dropping only against premade teams
