I've said it a couple times, they're either disconnected from how the game is actually functioning because they're the ones developing it or they're incompetent.

They might have screwed up the crit chance roll... Did you have anything else in your CT? If not, then a 100% crit chance means 1 shot minimum 3 shot maximum to kill on an exposed CT.
Engine crits were never functional before, though. Even w/PGI's patch noting skills, enabling something that major w/o notes seems shocking.

That would actually be a very good explanation, since most parts in the mech only have 10hp even a triple critical hit of a small laser can kill you engine, not to mention when it not hits the engine but just the internal structure itself nearly 1/3 is gone.
