That is really strange.
I'm running jenner and no problem.
I have all the upgrades except art.
I got ammo too and don't have these issues.
I'm not hearing people complaining about it on ts.

If this problem is not happening to everyone, its no surprise QA missed it

I agree, its pretty sad. They need to hire some in house testers, maybe feed some interns some pizza to make their game less of a buggy mess.

I haven't been seeing instant kills, but kills are coming faster for sure when armor is stripped away.

I think I figured out the problem.

all shots to exposed sections WILL crit now, 100% chance, so if there is anything in a part like ammo or an engine it will get critted the second you lose armor, engines die after getting critted, instakilling you, cockpit crits instakill a mech too, and any part that contains ammo will insta explode from ammo explosions.

It's not happening in my atlas I can see my internals changing color as they take damage. I am using a STD engine if that makes any difference.

Do you have ammo in those sections? CASE

I think the bug is that shots will critically hit SOMETHING 100% of the time, which means your engines will die before your structure and if you have ammo it will explode instantly, destroying a section right away.

If you only have a lot of heatsinks in your sides they are probably absorbing the crits for you and you don't really notice when they are destroyed.

That can't be right cause I just saw a cicada chase a cat that had a bare torso for 2mins frying him with 2 meds and shooting the twin MG.
On the other hand I did see an atlas collapse right after I shot off torso armor with the gauss.
I did tho survive a salvo of LRMs that stripped off my torso armor, which would kill the previously mentioned atlas.

Seems like some weapons crit on exposed internals and some don't. Could be that ballistic weapons xept the MG crit 100% and everything else just had the crit chance raised.

Either way, it seems to be highly inconsistent and can't be working as intended.

It just happened to me with no xl or upgraded armor. I guess I will just not play until the next patch and see what that one has broken. :)

Highly disappointed get it together "beta" is not an excuse anymore.

They will have to hotfix this, or their game's simply dead.

I'm noticing things dying faster from internal structure damage, but nothing like 3 hits. Against an Atlas it still requires quite a bit of firepower to take down the internals, at least from behind.

Not saying this is what it is, but it just feels like half structure hp rather than instant death.

Honestly, it wasn't noticeable until I tried to pay attention. A new player wouldn't notice anything off.

i just fought a jenner for a while 1v1 in my atlas. i had no back armor and he put at least 10 shots onto the rear CT but it didnt even turn dark red ... then I blew off his legs immediately after i stripped the armor.

wierd stuff going on. i dont think its to do with ammo even. the jenner was a laser boat and I dont think they even put anything in their legs :X

I sometimes put AMS ammo in my legs or something

possible. i have a gut feeling we don't fully understand the triggering mechanism.

on the plus side I just cored 3 atlases in the ice tunnel using arm blocking strategies, so it can be fun :)

I literally got got 2 shot from 100% by one catapult LRM boat, person on team spectating me couldn't believe I died in 2 salvos from 1 Cat. Its pretty ridiculous, I took off my armor "upgrade" to see if that helps or is bugged.. cuz thats crazy

Could it be that they implemented the TT version of critical hits...

Where you rolled 2d6 and a '12' result gives 3 critical hits or a limb blown off????
