I am sad that I didnt' get the chance to test the overpowered Artemis and get 5-8 kills with 1 tonne LRM Ammo. I tought 3 kills per match with 5 ammo LRM and a scout are more than enough and saved the money for the artemis :-P

I'm just wondering if part of the reason that LRMs have been so effective after the last patch may also be due to this possible bug causing mechs to die faster than expected due to crits or some other mechanism.

It will be interesting to see whether these changes to LRMs actually fix the issues but presumably they would know this from internal testing of these changes.

Wow...thank you for the quick LRM adjustment, it was terrible out there. Even with AMS and using the terrain I was getting smoked within 5-10 seconds in my Atlas. ;)

It is so good to see that the devs are paying attention and acting with such haste. I have hope.

p.s. Seriously I'd recommend restoring double heat sinks and see if lasers are actually OP with their new heat. ;)

As LRMs were a tad bit OP pre-patch with the damage, I approve of the change. May need to tweak it a bit upward (1.8, 1.75), but this won't make LRMs useless in the interim.

Thanks for the quick fix.
To everyone concerned that it is an overfix, well a 2 day turn around on fixing an OP issue suggest that if this is weakening LRMs too much it can also be readjusted quickly.
One the 4 person team issue, would it be possible to increase the countdown before the match just a little, give people who are not part of a premade group time to jump into the chat that any premade in that drop is using? I know that I see text at the beginning of matches sometimes stating that the is a 4 man group on TS. If I had another 10 seconds of timer I would have time to find the channel and get on comms, thus allowing me to be more effective, not to mention meet more people.

I pilot an LRM boat (among other mechs) and I'm happy for this news. I want to brawl. I want LRMs to be support, not the main weapon. I want to see the sun again. This should bring them back in balance.

Is the hotfix up? Just tested and still doing 1300-1500 damage with LRM Atlas on mixed teams (not stripping 8 Atlas Mechs down to the bone), also most teams still run around with 1-2 scouts and the rest LRM boats+LRM Atlas.

Maybe people did not realise you can run into cover again.

I don't think a "Slight" reduction in LRM damage is going to fix the problem. Going back to 1.5 per missile would bring Gauss and AC's back into play.

A reduction to 1.5 would still let my dual LRM20 atlas drop 60 damage a hit, which is still devastating. But by the dev post it sounds more like its a reduction to 1.9 or something, which won't have the desired effect of balance.

Thank you kindly. It does help to get more into specifics when announcing changes. Otherwise it's just attracting more speculation and flaming. Good fix overall. I'm excited to see how this will change the battlefield.
