Isn't it a bit early to tell how much you will spend if you still have no idea for WHAT you may spend it?

of course, this is based on what little information we know. i agree, it's not the best indication of what people will actually spend. but it does show what people are willing to spend, regardless. i thought it'd be interesting to see how much it'll change when the game comes out!

I'll buy stuff I want. This is sort of a pointless poll without knowing the quality, value, or variety of the stuff that will be in the game store.

I know people are excited, but why would you determine what you'll spend before you know what is available?

I'm really picky, so I'll likely spend money very far between unless they manage to find something that really catches my fancy.

I hope they have custom computer voices. I'd drop some cash on that.

Is this over the course of a week, a month, a year, the lifetime of the game?

There's little to nothing known about the store, so it's difficult to speculate at this point.

Cheers.

I know for myself, I'd spend enough just to get me going in the beginning. Otherwise, I'm one to earn what others would just buy.

I'll spend as much as I feel I need/want to. Over the lifetime of the game it could add up to a fair amount, but it'll be done in small increments.

I think you needs options for per month, but I'd guess I'd be willing to spend at least $50 the first few/several months, probably coming to around 10-15 a month.

I'll spend some money if the prices are reasonable. If they're selling individual mechs for $20-40 bucks forget it.

I'm sorry, i'm not a big time gamer. i used to be. (i will be when this thing finally releases). i didn't think you guys would think so much into this question. i for one just think that these times are tough, we all have lives outside of video games (i hope so)... i'm gonna spend what i am willing to spend, not base my spending on what the game makes me feel inclined to spend. lol sorry if this poll is pointless! (but i'm sure the developers would be interested in seeing the results of the poll...sssh). haha

I'm gonna put a wild guess in at $10-25 range in the hope that this game lives up to hopes. If there's no combat advantage and they allow us to make camouflage skins in the mechlab I'm having a hard time imagining buying anything though. New chassis' would be worth it. I.e.: if they give us 12, 3 per weight class for free, they could justify more chassis don't provide combat advantage. But again we know nothing at this point.

So far the only thing I've bought in a microtransaction game is the Demo starter pack for TF2 cuz it was on sale for a dollar and I desperately wanted a sword lol.

I'm ready to convert 25EUR to C-Bills once I'm confident I like the game. I'll probably do it in two transactions, 10 right when it comes out, the rest after a few days. I reckon that will let me play to full enjoyment withouth worrying about trashing a few mechs for at least a month. After that, I plan on putting a tenner in every once in a while (1-3 months), depending on playtime and performance.

I assume the business model is such that most players who don't have a whole lot of time to kill will be inconvenienced unless they spend a few bucks a month.

It depends how much I enjoy the game.

If its a well made game with solid game mechanics and has pretty good replay-ability, I could see myself paying $10-$15 on mech customization and upgrades.

$100+. Probably will pay $25 or so every 1-3 months, and I'll probably play until the game dies so.... lets say six years? average of every two months? I'll end up paying.... lets see... $300 a year, so a total of $1800 over the six years?

... dang wow. That means I've spent nearly half that on Combat Arms already... well at least the money will go to this now instead.

... And now I must question myself on just how much I spend on video games. Then again, I don't really buy other video games so eh. I still spend less on video games than many gamers.

So it seems like a few of us will treat the game like a gym membership, paying so much each month.... however you want to justify yourself lol

Like I said, I'm assuming that's part of the business plan because they are going to run, support, and develop the game for (hopefully) a long time after launch. That's real money they have to spend every month, so I expect to end up paying part of it.
