I would support a change to 1.5 but mainly for simplicity of math.

You know that the thread is about the current DHS working as 2.0 in engine?

It might be fine for your custom builds. But please also consider the implications of nerfed (for no reason) DHS on (upcoming) standard 'mech variants. It sets people up for frustration when they have to use broken trials or 'mechs they just bought.

2- Light
3- Medium
4- Heavy
5- Assault
So yes, double heat sinks are alittle powerful on scouts and should stay at there current value. Possible make it so there 2.0 in the engine and 1.4 outside of it.

Given the ridiculous scaremongering provided as a reason not to implement true DHS and the repeated failures to implement them as described, I'd like to hear the official line on what exactly they think they are doing.

That's the way it is now.
And this way it primarily benefits mechs who lack the tonnage for additional heat sinks and therefore depend on engine HS. Or lights and mediums to use other words.
I support ungimping all DHS to give a bone to the heavyweights.

The is no confirmationt aht engine sinks are 2.0 now. And I will NOT waste 1.5 M until I have a confirmation that you start with 20 effective sinking. if they are 1.4 inside engine ... they are worthless.

There is confirmation all over the forums. It is also pretty easy to test for yourself. You can lead a horse to water...

The patch notes are clear and the revelation that DHS in the engine are working at their full 2.0 value was exposed by the community. In the current implementation any DHS that are contained in the Engine (Not including the optional extra DHS that you can fit in engine slots) are providing a cooling rate of 2.0 / 0.2. Any additional DHS work at 1.4 / 0.14. This goes against the announced function of DHS, which had them all working at 1.4
PGI stated that having play tested 2.0 DHS they were totally OP. Garth himself revealed that his Jenner fitted with DHS was able to core an Atlas in 3 seconds.
Its nearly a week since we got the patch and I have yet to read a single post on the MWO forums of DHS being perceived as OP. If DHS were really OP where is the hordes of post flaming about their OPness?
There are none.

Lights are the only things I refuse to mount pulses on tbh.
The other day I got hit in the torso from long range by a triple-PPC alpha from an Awsome 3-M, "no way is he gonna be able to shoot those again any time soon" I thought, so I lined-up a nice gauss round on his head, then boom, another 3x to the chest, killed me outright..

C'mon, live a little - 1.5mil is pocket change in this game, I've bought 12x mechs and kitted them out fully, and have 20mil left over for mech-strippers atm, and I don't even play my founder's Cat..
Try it, then judge if it feels right.
I don't give a chuff if it's 1.0, 1.4, 2.0 or over 9000, as long as it feels right - That's all that should matter.

i work 8 hours per day, 1 hour of lunch, plus 2 hours of commuting, make 1 hour of gym and 1 hour of running, plus have a dog to walk I do nto have time to make that much cbilsl as you clearly have. I can play at most 30-40 min poer day.. and I will not waste 2 days of cbills.

I loved this factoid. I mean the small laser takes 2.25 seconds to recycle and anything heavier longer, typically 3 seconds.
It alone speaks volumes.
Where did he say that? I want to read the community's responses to this BS (assuming it's not in a locked post.)
