Nope, not once... it's game play doesn't appeal to me. In fact I don't like the "no friendly fire" in games like Borderlands which are Co-op play because I find it stupid that if I shoot my teammate in the back of the head because I can't aim they don't take damage. Would it suck to be killed by an errant shot in that game? yes, but I adds a nice feeling to the game when I have to be aware of where my teammates are, just like I would in real life.
Removing FF would remove some of the skill from the game and just turn it into more of a spin and fire everything at every enemy you see without looking around. I think that would strongly detract from the game play and the immersion of it. I also like to use FF against the enemy, sometimes getting in close to an enemy mech when I am 1 vrs 2+ so that his teammates have to hold shots or risk hitting him. This is all GOOD for the game and the occasional careless person and TK grief will be taken care of as the game switches over to Faction play. At that point people in your faction who TK will be kicked or not given missions. You will know who they are and they will find it hard to get away with.

Friendly fire stays. learn to to not spam your fire into teammates, and be aware of teammate position so you do not walk into their fire.

It's simple. If I wanted COD I'd play COD. You COD people loving paying for the same game every year, not me. I don't want it to be BF, or Super Mario! I want a Mech Warrior game.

next suggestion coming up is NH/UA/Respawn ???
If we would like to play some "no-brain-game", we would have chosen to.

There should be an option to enable/disable FF for matches, as was the case in all previous MW games.

I personally always try to be aware of teammates, I try to leave a firing lane to the target if I'm the closest and I try to move my shot away from my teammates if they get in the way. It's fun.
I can understand where you're coming from, but I just think it adds a lot more to the game than it takes away.

It's a PUG problem that players do stupid things. If you don't want to play with fail players, look for a group. Nevertheless, you learn the most while pugging.

That is totally not true. I have been TK's by a group. They tried to tell us what to do and who to shoot and who not to shoot. They wanted the kill all to themselves. AKA the credits and components etc... I shot the dude anyways so they shot me. Multiple times while I was sitting on cap.
I won't hook up with clan friends till after most of the BETA stuff is ironed out. Others that want to do it now, cool go them, but there are just as many TKs in "clans" than out. Heck I know a few whole clans that are here and will have a larger presence that ENJOY starting feuds and TKing...

1) Your argument that fire being absorbed by 'blocking' mechs means little changes there is wrong, people will just point their lasers at a scrum and hold down fire. Do that now and you're as much a detriment to your team as the opposition.
2) There are tactics that become more complex with FF on. As a light, if my 'incoming missle' warning flags up, I frequently risk the damage to travel a few yards further to use a hostile Assault as cover as opposed to a cliff. It also makes LRM spotting more complex (and thus challenging and fun) since you need to regulate your distance from the target, as opposed to simply humping his leg (often under his vertical aim limit) while firing TAG.

Yeah but who would shoot his guns and lasers if it's pointless anydamnway? Just to waste ammo or heat up in vain?
Even if there was an upgrade for Mechs that blocks your weapons when team mates cross your crosshair, I wouldn't buy it. Because you still might shoot over their heads or past their arms/legs.
People simply have to learn to aim properly. And if they cause damage to their mates, they need to receive a penalty. And I mean a penalty that really hurts. Like a c-bill/xp malus for FF-damage, like ten or twenty times higher than the bonus for damage dealt to enemies. That would probably make people l2p instead of going brainafk on matches.

As a light mech pilot, and thus one of the primary recipients of incoming FF, this would be a terrible addition. If I'm weaving around a brawl at top speed, into and out of cover, I get winged. It happens and if my teammates checked fire enough to avoid it happening we would loose through lack of aggression. Getting winged by FF is a thing, learn to deal with it. Game would be far duller without it.

Add an "Online" behind it, it's still MechWarrior, there's nothing wrong with this game following the established norms as previous MW games.
And previous MW multiplayer is more hardcore than this one, with positioning and sniping being far more important. If anything, MWO is the one that encourages zerging in and getting kills. In previous MW games, you will get instantly pwned by 10 PPCs from mechs on passive sensor hiding behind hills in 3 directions.
MWO should follow all previous MW games and have an option to enable/disable FF.

What if it was a server option, say, off for pugs, but for scripted battles (such as the community warfare) it gets turned on? Would that be amiable?
