I love the game. What frustrates me is so many players that seem to be completely clueless. It's not like first person shooters are a new thing. Yet every game players can't figure basic things out, like red means bad guy or if you put the crosshair on the target you might hit them. Or even how to move. The UI and map are pretty standard and anyone coming from any other FPS should have no problems understanding the the HUD and even if they do they should pick it up pretty fast. Yet game after game, its the same thing. Friendly fire at start. Nobody reading the chat etc.. My last match I had someone who didn't even know there were teams. I have been playing FPS games for many years and I have never encountered the amount players that seem to have no clue and no ability to get one. I think that more then anything is ruining the ability to pug.

Not everyone is a hardcore pwnz0r gamer like you.

A good game eases casuals in. MWO just throws them out to the sharks with a knife and be done with em.

Its not about being a hardcore gamer... its about not being a complete moron. Using things like common sense and reading the directions are foriegn ideas it seems.

Of course. But there are people who just don't put effort into their games.

Thats when you get someone who runs straight into a group of hostile mechs and dies then says this game sucks because he can't kill anyone.

There is that old quote, "Common sense isn't common."

It puzzles me too. It would be like launching Blake Stone for the first time and not realizing that you were supposed to shoot the baddies by pointing at them. Just weird, I don't know how it can be so hard. When I was 12, MW2 wasn't anywhere near as hard for me as MW:O seems to be for sone. And that was my first 3D game...

The game has no ******* tutorial or any instructions. What the **** do you expect?

I bet you couldn't operate this fire alarm system I have behind me with your amazing common sense. Boom there is a fire alarm, what now? You're ******.

In fact there are a great deal of instructions in the forums. Everything from strategy to mech builds and everything inbetween. Even the keymap is posted. I don't know how you can say there is no tutorial when everytime you log in there is a giant screen that says click for tutorial. I see this post applies directly to you Hanitora. Know what your talking about before you post.

Nobody reads the forums. NOBODY. Except morons like us.

And I have played 300 matches in MWO and I just now found out there was a tutorial link in the game.
I still wouldn't have watched it, videos can go suck a fat one.

I know exactly what I am talking about you condescending ***.

No, no-one else is frustrated. If you scour the forums from top to bottom you will not find a single other user who is frustrated. About anything. At all. Ever.

Yeah in the f*ing forums. You know what the last game where I had to look up basic instructions on the forums was? None, ever. Every game from freaking Civilization to Death Rally (the old good one) has a tutorial or at least shows you all the controls to get you off the ground. This one expects you to go to the forums? It's ridiculous and you know it.

Example : My friend took a trial cicada, his UAC5 jammed. He ran around with it useless for the rest of the game.To learn how to unjam it all you need to do is search the forums... terrible.

I had to find all the tutorials and manuals for X3 on Egosoft's forums. That was 5 years after full release (it came out in 2005).

I also walked uphill both ways in the snow to the arcade to play video games that didn't have save points.

I don't much care if someone doesn't want to learn to play this game. It's their loss, not mine.

First mech warrior online is not a hardcore game.

it is not even mildly difficult.

to insuniate that those who get this game are hardcore is a slap in the face to true hardcore players .

what you actually have is lazy no attention span players who want a quick kill , not taking the time or effort necessary to gain that kill.

wanting companies and even gamers to pander to this crowd of detrimental filth is what is killing gaming to this day.

im tired of my beloved games being stripped of features and utillity just so some dimwit does not have to try and figure something out.

im tired of my game play styles being cramped into the same footprint as everyone else just because when there is to much freedom in what you do . these same dimwits get lost and twril derhur around .

stop pandering to simple minds and the lowest common denominator. expect people to step up and learn something for crying out loud

we all have a mind. freaking use it.

This isn't just in MWO every game has people that barely have any idea what is going on. Game developers are just making it easier and catering to the lowest common denominator instead of letting people learn and rise up to overcome challenging content.
