I'm a Group player. I've been pugging all by my lonesome since we lost 8 man teaming, with occassional bouts of 4 man grouping.

It really is true what they say, 4 man teams might as well have 4 afkers on their side when it comes to pugs being the other 4 souls on your team.

Every once in a while when I pug solo I get blessed and get teamed with other guys that are clearly Group Players or were, and we have a smashing good time together. More often than not though I get people that just run into buildings and are unable to unstick themselves, people that waltz one at a time into murder holes, or people that spend as much time shooting each other as they do the enemy.

Nov 20th just can't get here fast enough as far as I'm concerned.

We need to do one more thing though, the ability for pugs to optionally que up against premades. You honestly don't know the game until you fight either with or against premades. You simply don't. Premading in MMOs changes Everything.

I voted everything, because I don't really care. My 'group' isn't ever of a set size, anyway, and when they maxed it to 4 players per drop, we simply got a lot more drops total going.

None of the above.

When I PUG, I don't want to see 8-man steamrollers. When I premade, I want to play against other premades.

Simple as that.

pugstomping is not very fun! so yes but wanderer's solution is the best for me. totally separating pugs and premades would be nice, or at least have equal number of each per side.

You missed one of my preffered options, thats allowing those pugs that wish to drop against organised teams. It's a great way for them to see how well organised teams work. I dont want to force puggers to fight pre-made groups but i think it should be a choice they make. If they drop against teams and like that style of play it then gives them a chance to find out which teams are recruiting.

basically it would just be like in CoD then ... you'd have a mercenary only launch, which allow for no groups, and a regular launch which is just what we have right now. and then a specific 8v8 queue.

i like it! provided we have enough players.

I personally think they should put in greater rewards for doing full 8v8 matches. It'll keep queue times down and organized groups from pubstomping to grind cash/exp. It's nice to think that people would do it just to get good fights and even matches but for many the only thing that matters is maximizing profits - ideally we'd be encouraged to do both. Why fight tooth and nail against an organized opponent only to get a nasty repair bill when you could grab 3 friends and leg some pugs in 4 minutes for 250k? Yeah it's more fun to fight a real match, but tell that to the suicide farmers.

I suppose it opens the door for abuse and win trading but we are still testing the game...they should've done this when it was closed beta and we had wipes every other week.

Wow what a biased poll. I take it the author doesn't like option 3.

For me I just want to play with my friends. That means groups of 3-6 people. So even after the change our group is still F'ed. unless we want to go 6v8

Do you expect me to believe that a founder who purchased every advantage available really wants a fair fight? I just can't. I got pug stomped all night by premade groups of founders, they bought a leg up, and they love it. Why would they buy an advantage just to nullify it by fighting other people with the same advantages?

With that said, all I care about is a segregation option, but if you really want 8 man premades, you should ask pgi for item you could buy that would allow it - I'm sure it would be done by the end of the week.

I voted yes, But I feel the chips should lay where they fall. Because to me the issue is more about Me wanting to have a chance to win every time, vs reality. Usual argument here_________.

I personally want the unknown of, "will I be facing the Black Widows or the Beatnik Planetary Militia?" I wanted it as a PUG I want it still.

I have mixed feelings about this because with the games lack of an in game general text based chat box it makes recuriting very difficult in game. This hurts both pugs and premades alike as pugs cannot go in game and ask questions without dropping and then letting everyone know they are new. Yes I very much want to fight other premades, but how are we to impress pugs with our combat abilities and convince them that lonewolfing is not the way MWO was designed to be played.

That said I totally understand their desire to not get constantly steamrolled as that is not fun, but I think added a deathmatch gametype would have been a far superior method for addressing Pug concerns. Not to mention give people a chance to learn without the pressure of letting down a team. Its good that 8mans are back bad that its either 4 or 8 and nothing in the middle.

Thanks for all the responses. It is basically what I expected. Thanks to all that pointed out the missing answers that I did not consider, and to those that poked holes in my question and answer structure in general.

Although I am eager to face other organized teams with my organized team, I am also interested in PUGS v PUGs as well and will actively recruit within those matches. Thanks, wanderer, for pointing out that obvious choice.

I can't wait to be done with the PUG's. I'm tired of their ******** attitude and Tired of them being too dumb to formulate a proper challenge. Bring on the other teams and make the game interesting for me.

Disclaimer: Not all pugs are worthless sacks of crap. Some of you are pretty damn cool. That Oinkage guy was cool. Totally cool.

I play casual premades usually. We aren't hardcore with strategy or anything, but we use voicecoms and basic target calling and whatnot. I'm apprehensive at our chances against proper pro teams, but we roll teams of PuGs. To be honest, I don't think the new system will work out well for me. I will either have to find a hardcore team (which, due to RL commitments, I cannot properly commit to) or start lone wolfing it up all the time, which destroys half the fun of the game.

It's not going to make a bit of difference. The puggers will continue to john q rambo their way to mediocrity....
