I'm not unhappy about it.

You might want to rephrase the poll and your question. There are few people out there who would be happy to pay for anything, no matter how much they like what they paid for.

While we're talking about the wording of the thread, and since you're asking us to provide an explanation for our stance, perhaps you could tell us what you hope to gain from this poll. It's only fair.

Is this a troll? I can't speak for everybody, but we were promised a LOT more stuff than just a beta. A lot of that has been delivered. The rest depends on how well the game does, but we knew that going in.

Or do mean, are we happy we payed money and got the early Beta access as a unannounced bonus?

My experience Beta testing Heavy Metal Pro called for me to pay for the program to give the Creator the funds to do what he had to do. So pitching in to get MWO on the road to development is worth it. I have also chipped in more money to purchase MC. I have enjoyed my time playing MWO and I have new friends that I will remember for the rest of my life.

I did not pay money for this game in the sense you are thinking. I paid money to help support PGI financially to help resurrect a franchise I love. It just so happens they (PGI) made the deal very sweet by having a handful of little perks such as premium time, MC and other 'stuff'.

Yes, I am.

If there were no new developments in the works, I would be disappointed, but as long as they keep producing content, I will keep playing... and who knows, maybe in the far future I might buy some MC for more premium time. I'm enjoying the game.

I don't really care, because I wasn't foolish enough to hand them 120 dollars.
The whole thing was akin to retail payment for any other game, except this one came with silly amounts of benefits.

Of course I'm happy, I got early access, a money grinding mech, premium time AND more than my monies worth of MC.

Not to mention the game is actually fun for me, and the knowledge that it will only improve is exciting.

Absolutely, I am happy I paid for a Founder's package! Money being tight, I purchased the $60, and after loving the CB, upgraded to the $120. I'm glad I had that option.

-I payed to show my support for the game, and I still support PGI, what they've accomplished, and their vision of the future for this game.

- I have played many, many hours of MW:O since July, and have enjoyed many an awesome match. In fact, I have 'PUG'ged exclusively since joining, and I'm glad I've been playing.

-I have enjoyed my Founder's Catapult by far of any 'mech in the game, although I started playing Atlas, and enjoy the Hunchback a ton. The Founder's 'mech package has been worth it.

-I have had the privilege of worrying less about repair bills/ c-bill grinding as a result of my founder's package. I disdain 'grinding' in games, and have thankfully avoided it due to being a Founder.

-Name in the credits is completely irrelevent to me, especially when there are, like, a million Founders :).

-I payed to show support for the game! Too many online games die early, and a massive boost to starting funds will help the developer with the time/resources to get the game where it needs to be. MechWarrior, to me, is a legendary game franchise, and I'll be damned if I don't play the **** out of a new one!

Theres a pretty decent number of gamers who have been so starved for mech games in general and battletech games in particular that the devs could line up outside their homes to punch them in the face and they still couldn't throw money at PGI fast enough.

No. I'm glad I got such a deal, but I'm entirely too addicted to the forums and the week-to-week progress.

I would have preferred the Founder program (or something similar) come much closer to MCW. Of course at the time I bought, we were led to believe we WERE close to MCW.

That's a good summery.
I didn't buy a game, I invested money in a company.

I've spent more time having fun with this game than any other since 99-2000 (UT99), and on a per-hour basis, is by far the cheapest form of entertainment I could possibly take part in, so on a purely mercenary basis, yes, it's so beyond good value as to be un-funny.

Partying, drinking, riding my motorbikes fast, girls, whatever - cost waaay more money than this has set me back (about half the cost of a night out - not including taxis), so yes, I'm happy that I made the decision I did, since it has proven to be a complete bargain.

That's possibly not the point you were trying to delve down to in your question, but it's late & I'm too tired to try & interpret.. :)

If they were making Baldur's Gate III, I'd let them punt me in the nads before I handed over my wallet ... XD XD

I'm delighted to have done my part in trying to give PGI the resources it needed to further the development of this game. Only regret is not having the disposeable income to buy both my wife and myself Legendary packs, but $240 is a bit much at one time for a game, no matter how badly I would like to see it succeed.

Meh. I'm not unhappy. Despite having plenty of things for me to whinge (or recently, outright rage) over, I've still had fun with the game up til now. Though I play much less frequently of late because of the glacial speed at which critical bugs are addressed and new content is added, the core gameplay is still fun when I do.

That and I'm not so emotionally attached to my $120 as some people seem to be. It's only 10 bucks more than the latest CoD game on Xbox here and I've gotten plenty more hours of entertainment here than I'd likely ever get out of one of those.

So I guess I'd vote "yes" and that I wish PGI and this game all success, with caveat that it's not going to stop me ******** about stuff I don't like if I feel it's justified.
