Smurfy: I just want to say that I am a professional web developer, and I feel that your Mechlab & Stats site is amazingly well done. If you aren't already developing web applications professionally, you should start, because your talents are rare and in high demand.

PGI should be paying you to run that site. Seriously, they should pay you. Are you listening PGI? Get this man's home address and send him a fat check!

Hi Smurfy,

Is the stock Stalker-4N specs correct? The mechlab reports 86 tons for it for some reason.

Hehe, good catch, that one gave us quite a serious headache for a while and a lot of wasted time trying to figure the bug out, in particular since none of us had that mech. However, the answer turned out to be that yes, it is correct insofar as it reflects how it is in game. It is a bug in game though.

I would like to request a total weight to run tab on engines, I recently needed this info on the deaths knell ( finally managing to fit 2 large lasers, I was however going for 2x pulse :()
and with armour stripped to a scary level I still needed a few tones,

interestingly if speed isn't a factor, to get the xl engines into a match ranged from 10.5 to 7 tones
so it might be useful ;)

Not sure at all what you are asking but total weight has no influence on speed, only base weight does.

Hi Smurfy,

My only suggestion is to show the # of jjs that can be possibly be put in the mech through the drag and drop interface. Ideally, on the left side, it should say something like "JJs # of X" where X is the max this mech can hold. Don't show it if the mech cannot have them.

Alternatively, it could be added to the to equipment list to show when you are trying to add jjs through highlighting it that you have X of Y possible JJs installed.

I had a superb idea for the 'mechlab, but forgot when I got to the forum.

Ah no wohoo I remembered after all. It would actually help me and perhaps one and a half other persons on average if the engine list had some kind of a marker; color, asterisk or anything to highlight the ones whose internal heat sink slots you can fill with the available tonnage. This revolutionary feature might lessen frustration for people who don't have my superior mathematical skills when they notice time and time again that they dragged a too heavy engine to their 'mech from the list, losing perhaps even seconds of their lifetime in the futile endeavor.

Minor feature request:

On the Ammo mouseover tooltip, could you add a Damage per Ton statistic - that is, the maximum amount of damage you can do per ton of ammo?

It's not really important, but its a very interesting point of comparison between weapon types and when considering how much ammo to take and there's empty space happening in that tooltip bubble ^_^

A good Idea, I also like to check how much dmg I could theoretically do with my ammo :D

I prefer this to the ingame mechlab because I can see the whole mech at once. Brilliant! :D

Hello again!

Any chance of showing the number of mech's internal structure hitpoints? Maybe either as a hover over the armor section or as a dedicated number on each section.

For the first, thank you very much for this project.
And make, please, order by mech name (not user mech name) in mechbay.
I mean something like that:

DRG-1C
DRG-1C
DRG-1N
DRG-1N
DRG-5N
DRG-5N
DRG-5N
FANG
FANG
FANG
FLAME
ILYA MUROMETS
ILYA MUROMETS

...
etc.

Actually the Order in your mech bay is based off of Weight CLass - Weight (Lightest to heaviest) then Order you added it to the Mech Bay. So all your Dragon's are grouped at the top of the HEavy category, and the most recently added one is at the bottom of the dragons, but above your Cataphracts.

I would like to be able to rearrange them, or group all the same chassis together, but this is workable.

Yes, please group all the same chassis together. Becouse now it looks like that:

DRG-1N
DRG-5N
DRG-5N
DRG-5N
DRG-5N
DRG-1C
DRG-1C
DRG-1N
DRG-1C
DRG-1C
DRG-5N
FLAME

... A little bit chaotic. And if I want to visually compare all my DRG-5N models, for example, to delete some of them, It takes some time to scroll and find them all.
