I just figure the ones who memorize and love stats are the ones who memorize playboy pinup stats also..cause they can't get a real woman and need something to fantasize about as being better than everyone else. :) ( and no ,I voted don't give a rat *** bout stats).

I don't particularly mind, although it's not needed.
I think it's one of those things that if we did well we may wish to show off a bit, but if we did not do so well we will want it to not be that publicly shown.

I guarantee a select portion of the community will run to any posters stats immediately in order to 'prove' that the poster has no idea how to play and will tell them it's a l2p issue.

If stats go public, virtually any possible constructive conversation will end on these boards. What little there is. It will all come down to people trashing eachother based on K/D or whatever other pointless metric they choose to use. It will turn into a Mechwarrior version of any PvP discussion in World of Warcraft, if you aren't super awesome top rated multi-year gladiator your opinion won't matter. This is an awful idea.

Leader boards are as a whole almost always useless, and in a game like this I'd see them only being harmful to both the game and the community. People can already share their stats if they want to via screen shots. Expect to see more stat whoring as well if it goes public. Yet another awful design choice by PGI.

First you need to fix the matches !!!

Assault - Capping to win should be viable or it's just "Death Match".

Conquest - No great suggestions, would LOVE to see it work, but a PUG conquest match is still not there yet. (basically it's just "Death Match", see Assault )

Actually love MWO and commend the programmers for moving forward.
BUT, stats without matches could very well make things much worse.

PLEASE keep working on improving gameplay, by giving us the two match types in a finished state. THEN you can ask me about stats.

Yup, like on battlelog.

Stats are completely meaningless, especially in this game where you always win and rarely die if you do a 4 group with powerbuilds.

If stats become public it won't matter for pugs. It will matter for 'leagues'. What I don't want to see is a players' worth reduced to a single number AKA gearscore in WoW. Once upon a time someone wrote an addon to measure a player's gear to determine who should pilot vehicles in a particular raid (the strength of the vehicle was dependent on the player's gear). What started off as an organizational tool quickly devolved into means for discrimination and exclusion.

If I wanted to see a statistic to see how i fare, it would only be one stat.

I would want to see players ranked 1 to 8 regarding their end of game ranking within their team.

Not 1 to 16, just 1 to 8, team ranking is about the only important way to view compotency.

Once again, please continue working on the matches themselves before comtemplating stat publishing.

I think that would be awesome...especially since the last patch where disconnects count as deaths, good way to deal with alt-f4 warriors

Very bad idea... they did this in World of Tanks and now forum topics have degenerated into "Pff... you only have a 43% BFD and a 0.78 KDRSE loololol you have no opinion". I left WoT beause the community turned so sour... and I was pretty good at it.

Guess i have to take back my previous post.
Just finished a match where we launched 2 short against a premade,
so 2 more dc'd on purpose making it 4 vs 8,
and at the end im ranked dead last. Why?

You have my condolences. I was on the other end of a drop like that last night where we were up by 1 no show, 2 dc's and an AFK. My 4 man and our pugmates didn't exactly enjoy the drop on our side either. We felt bad and said we'd just take 3 caps and let them have two and cap it out. Then the 4 opposing mechs showed up at Theta and opened fire. Oh well.
