Not exactly that much better than a normal AC-10, unless you're trying to scatter damage in hopes of generating crits.

gonna be honest with you kerensky, i put Galatan on here for my FORUM persona, when I get to name my character come game time, you can be assured, its NOT going to have a last name, i fully intend to earn a blood name IN game.

Yup. That was the whole point, and while it used the "Missiles Hit" table to determine how many pellets hit, a single location was rolled for each pellet.
It was a baller crit (or TAC/Head-shot [for pilot damage, not for head-capping]) seeker. Though I tend to still prefer SRMs because they have a higher damage/ton ratio. I also just like them. I can't explain it. Something about them just makes me happy. =)

I think it's the visual of the missiles corkscrewing around and them being short range is why I like them. I'm more a mid-range to short-range brawler overall, and SRM's are awesome for brawling.
I know I plan to swap out the LRM-10 for SRM-6 on my Centurion at the bare minimum just for engine weight speed upgrade.

Depends on the efficiency you're considering.
Damage/Ton, no, they're a bit behind (for tonnage, all SRM racks are scaled copies of the 2):
SRM-2 - (2 or 4)/1
MLas - 5/1
Damage/Heat, they can pull ahead.
SRM-2 - (2 or 4)/2 (1 to 2)
SRM-4 - (2 to 8)/3 (.6 to 2.6r)
SRM-6 - (4 to 12)/4 ( 1 to 3
MLas - 5/3 (1.6r)
Damage/Heat goes way up with Streaks, since they all hit (disregarding AMS), or they don't fire. Damage/Ton loses the variance, but goes down a little, since streaks are heavier.
It all goes back to what Scotty said in The Final Frontier: The right tool for the right job.

Just something about the flash and roar of old fashioned chemical propellents that you can feel in your very bones... Probably why I enjoy shooting (but not so much loading) blackpowder firearms.

Anyways yeah lots of stuff can beat the medium laser for damage per heat, (Like every ballistic weapon in the game at this time period), and same with missiles really.
Still, got a soft spot for SRM-6's. I think it's the 2 damage per missile.

I know, I just mentioned them (and *only* mentioned them) because they're going to be here *eventually*.
Yeah, me too. =) Pretty sure it's the 2-damage per missile for me as well.
Confound these SRMs, they lead me to make non-optimal loadouts!
...or do they? /wicked grin

OOC: ok on to topic. Much of level 2 tech is available as has already been pointed out, does that mean commonly? nope sorry not all of it is, As to the requests for clan tech, come on guys, we don't even know when the clans will be available as a player faction, you are giving us clanners a bad name by constantly asking for it. Do I want clan tech? hell yes I do but I am happy to play my game as a merc or a lone warrior until such a time comes when I can go home to Clan Jade Falcon. Do I want level 2 tech available to me with ease of access, sure but I can play level 1 tech I can still make some nasty customizations with it. Would I like to see quads? Yes I would but I don't expect it because at this time frame they are pretty rare.
The one thing I think I would most like to see carried over from TT to MWO is the rules to build your own mech, is it canon? no not really how many custom design mechs really existed in any stories, as far as I know none. Is it fun? yes it is fun (in my opinion) to actually say to your opponents or teammates "hey like my design?". Is it something we will see? unlikely nice idea but unlikely.

Yes building mechs would cause a headache for many, I feel though that TT veterans like myself would have a slight advantage doing so but only slight because the devs if they every decided to go for that idea would have to work in hard points as well.

AC/2s never put out enough damage to seem worth putting on a mech to me. I always wanted there to be some sort of kicker rule, like slightly better accuracy, or less of a difficulty multiplier for attempting an aimed shot at range, or something! 7 tons (including ammo) is NOT enough for only 2 points of damage to me even with their range. Even if you double them up like on Jagermechs or Blackjacks.
