It seems to me, that sentence means that YOU, the user of the ECM cannot achieve a missile lock.
IE no spotting for LRMs, or targeting lock for your own LRMs or Streaks.
Not that the user of ECM is impervious to a hostile missile lock.

inorite? It might be almost as vulnerable as an AC/20 or AC/10 now!

not quite, if you read a bit above where it says that...
Quote
When your Mech is disrupted by an enemy ECM:
- You cannot achieve any missile locks.

I'm not even using either of the guided missiles.
What gets me, is that Jenner D is the most powerful config of the most powerful light mech in the game, people complain it obsoletes mechs current and likely future (seriously - what else could you want from a light, combat-wise?)... then PGI announce they want to BUFF it.
It shows total disconnection from the game, which goes in line with some other baffling balancing decisions (guided missile buffs, gauss, Catapults as a whole, Cataphract 4X stealing Jagermech's thunder), and makes me worried for the future

Seriously, game balance problems of "one to rule them all" aside, it's like they don't even want us to buy/use any future mechs...

The user of the ECM and any allied 'mech within 180m or the user will be impervious to missile locks.

No it means exactly that, any enemy mech that inside the bubble of your ECM cant lock on missiles on you.

That section was discussing what happens to you when you are inside enemy ECM (as in, you in your Catapult, and a mean ol' Jenner runs up on you).

Nope.
To be affected a mech must be within 180m.
Meaning you can LRM or SSRM a mech all day that has ECM, so long as you're outside of the 180m ECM bubble it projects.

Except it'll take twice as long to lock it.

Except you can't target them at all unless you or an ally are within 200m and outside 180m (except maybe if you or an ally use TAG and are within 450m).

with as much cover as most maps offer, no jenner should ever take significant damage from lrm's. i take minimal damage from them in an atlas most matches just by being cognizant of where i'm going
ssrms on the other hand, only work at 270m. which means you have a 90m window to fire them off. against a jenner going 149kph, 90m doesn't last very long; even if you have someone else spotting him so you already have a lock as soon as he hits 270, you'll get 1 alpha strike off before he closes within 180

How about look at the chassis before nerfing streak for every other mech, its the same BS they do with the gauss.. guys, guys we balance gauss we make it ultra fragile, once armor is striped its gona explode.... herp derp... only that on a gauss cat the RT/LT practically never die and you either get CT cored or pitted.
Its the catapult itself not the weapons, the cat has insane torso twist arcs, is quite nimble and in lore its a long range fire support mech, so I wonder why I has to be so agile and such a wide torso arc... guess what would happen if you suddenly have only 180° on the cat+ sluggish movement, suddenly lights have no problems taking on a gauss cat or a streak cat.
But yeah keep nerfing weapons and make them unusable for every other chassis, sure gona enjoy all the exploding gauss rifels on atlases.
