How would you like to pick commanders?

Otherwise, when talking about PUG? Commander means diddly really. Stay away from the friendly fire airstrikes from some other commander using their commander abilities when they think they should cuz they have the /right/ to play how they want and ruin other people's fun.

Otherwise: test of endurance - we drink; whoever doesn't die leads.

PGI, please tell me you have a different matchmaking system for both pugs AND pre-made units?
All the people arguing for commander voting seem (to me) to be a more dedicated player most likely in a merc or house unit. Voting for a commander in this makes sense, since they all know each other, and know what each is capable of.
Pugs are different, and cannot be held to the same level of expectations one would get from a Unit. This is made even more true by the F2P model, which will attract even MORE players with little to no knowledge of MW or BT.

Petty perhaps, but I hate people with whiny, obnoxious voices who are trying to be bossy and command people over their ****** mics...

That was a little off topic, but what Melissia just said made me flashback to several occasions on Xbox Live where I hated whiny voiced children.

Drops happen and sometimes you have to take what's available. How do we handle those pesky Heros and loose cannons?

I'd think it'd be cool to get to know people's play-styles and whatnot and develop strategies on the fly.

This makes me wonder how many players on the enemy team are going to choose him as a primary target based on attitude alone. I get the feeling his battlefield performance won't back up his forum claims. I suspect making enemies with various merc groups will make for a much shorter average lifespan per match if name tags remain on enemy targets. I remember seeing guys act that way in other games over the years, seems they were often the first taken out by enemy forces.

jk (but seriously how much)
The ONLY time a commander should be telling people exact mechs/loadouts is if your guild is built that way. If you are part of a hardcore Merc Corp and all the members have agreed to these terms and you only play with your Corp, then feel free. If you get random/voted as commander then you dont get any say. Ask what people have, come up with start, listen what people have to say and try to help out, dont pretend for a moment you are in a real military giving real orders to people.

I'll double whatever he offers for you not to fight on his side. If you're serious, so am I.

Na thats why you play with a guild if you are taking it that seriously. Like i said before, if you are part of a guild and thats how they roll, thats fine. If you are not playing with your guild then thats not fine, not even in the slightest.
