Will MWO have an option to use "auto move forward"?
Example is a f2p mmo World of Tanks.
You can set a speed limit with a single hit of a button and your tank will always move with that speed automatically. That feature alone allowed me to play WoT.

I really hope MWO has something similar :(

Of course. It's a simulator where you set speed as in a train (almost).

You press W for a bit and the speed will be set to max and always move forward. :(

to expand on Adridos's explanation, You hold W, you will see your throttle go up, longer you hold it down, the faster you go, once it reaches the speed you want you let go and your throttle sits there. So if you hold it until it is 100% speed, you then stay moving at 100% speed until you decelerate with the S key. Which will bring you to 0% and then start to set reverse. If you hold W until it is roughly 50%, well 50% cruising speed until you decide otherwise.

Thanks for reply, this puts my mind at ease.

In regards to joystick, it will make my playthrough even harder.
I do have a g13 i use for macros and such.

Why would it be harder?

I believe that the game will let you press buttons and "set" the throttle (kind of like cruise control, so you can "set it and forget it")

Also, I believe, in order to maintain forward movement when you're not using preset throttle levels, I think you can merely hold the W or S key until the marker is at the location in the throttle you want (ie, hold 'W' until the marker is all the way at the front of the throttle.) At that point you can let go and the marker will stay put. The Mech will instantly begin to accelerate or decelerate to achieve that level of throttle as soon as it can.

In other words, the throttle isn't the type where you hold a button down to constantly provide forward movement, and the moment you let go, you begin to come to a stop. Instead, it is a constant throttle that you vary to stages and is maintained by the Mech automatically.

If you only have the issue of not constantly pushing forward then you could also use programmable peddles from racing wheels for the speed like the "Logitech G27 Racing Wheel" (only an example it is really expensive).

The pedals can be programmed then you can use the pedals for throttling.

Edit: cause of format problems

Thanx. I actually use logitech g13s macro system for some hold the button functions in games.
Having pedals on my table will complicate things abit :(

You DO know that some disabled persons do not really have two hands which would make holding a normal joystick without some modifications difficult. Some don't even have access to both of their hands/arms at all and have to resort to their head/mouth and feet to use some peripherals as well. Chances are this may be the case for the OP which is why using a joystick may not be an option for them.

This really does bring up a good point in that it's quite suprising that outside of a single Blog post, detailed in the Dev Blog 5 Part 1, and the various “very good odds” and other mentions in various interviews, nothing more has been said in this regard. For example, will only the keyboard/mouse users have a “default” configuration or will there be “configuration profiles” for different joystick or gamepad models or will it be the “let them map whatever they want”? Some games take the latter approach and while, technically, it allows for more flexibility it can cause issues where critical commands can not all be fit in a 12-button or less configuration.

Having a more detailed look at the current release plans for control input I'm sure would be appreciated by others who are interested in playing who have disabilities so that they can try and judge if this will be a game they can support or will be another "sorry but we're too cheap or lazy" approach towards trying to support those with limited mobility or other disorders that would prevent them from using a keyboard and mouse.

You're a quadriplegic AND you still have the desire to game.

I honest to God admire that. That takes characters! If I could, I'd give out all my *likes* for the month on that. *salute*

have you considered this system?
http://www.ocztechno...controller.html
I tried this on my cousin, and he got it to work , but it gave him a splitting headace so he stopped using it.
I tried it myself and i could use it, but it did the same for me (headaces)
Its a long way from "kill them with a thought" but if you cant use your hands it can do secondary tasks as
switching target or navpoints,, i would not recomend it on something that requires split second timing.

Absolutely, there will be a variety of options for playing. The current system is that you hold forward or backward for 1-2 seconds and it sets the throttle - with 'Mechs like the Atlas, this is pretty damn smooth. Stay tuned for more control options, if nothing works for you we'll see what we can come up with.
