If they want to make some serious bank they should sell mech accessories... like hats, moustaches, unicorn horns, flippers, etc...

I would....KILL.....to put a mustache on my Raven
Edit: Also, I would totally dig putting horns on my cataphract. It would look way more menacing, and would make me want the phranken camo more.

Don't forget the monocle, for your Raven... :(

I am currently not in a position to spend money on games but if I would be I would only buy permanent paints, I have no interest in buying temporary paints.

I've said pretty much the same thing somewhere...

Let's get it done PGI... People will not want to 'collect them all' when there is nothing to collect...

/signed this thread. Permanent colour/camo purchases better allow players to customize all their mechs and will sell more in the long run

Hell, even make it like Global Agenda, where you bought colors like they were items. You could have for example: 1x black, 2x orange and 3x purple.
That way we can swap colors and patterns freely, but we can't apply "phranken red" more than once unless we buy another "phranken red" or "dazzle" to more than one mech unless we own another "dazzle".

It would also keep things fresh as you release colors often and players might want to try them out without fear of having to pay to return to their old palette.

I like this idea. It gives you a permanent ownership to an "item" but trying to put it on all of your mech will get costly. Though with a little inconvenience (like only owning one 300 XL engine) all of your mechs could use it as long as you got the time to refit them. Want all your mechs having the same paint job at the same time? You're paying for a convenience of not swapping paint/camo. The thrifty can save their money (like those who only owns one AMS and ammo and swap between their mechs) while the Romneys can bling out all their mechs.

Our clan has been talking about painting our mechs, right now, and I am not a spokes person for the clan, but the cost is one contentious issue putting the whole mess on hold. +1

Sounds like a great idea.

Can keep the cbill cost to repaint on all colors then (just like basics) so that paint (premium and non-premium) still fulfills its function as a sink of sorts. MC once, then 300-900k to repaint a mech sounds fine to me.

I totally agree with Banditman on this. When I heard that we would be able to customize our mechs I was quite stoked, and even purchased some more MC just for this purpose. Then I started playing around with the patterns and colors I realized holy ****!! Thus is going to cost me a fortune! But having access to purchased colors and patterns (like painting my warhammer minis) I would be able to totally **** out all my 15 mechs.

I really hope the devs revamp this and do it quickly.

Paint should only cost cbills tbh, and should cost way less than it does now. It is only cosmetic.

QUESTION : How long do you play one mech? As me? Until you mastered it and then move to another mech/chassis?

That makes, around 3 to 7 days per mech for me at the moment. Am I willing to pay my earned € to make em look special? Sorry, no.

I do not even put modules in my mechs...2.000.000 for the vision? No thak you, very much...a new Cataphract is like 6.000.000?!?

If only I could feel more...bound to my mechs after mastering them...maybe I would focus on feeling more at home inside.

There is just one thing I REALLY need MC for = Mechbays! Because I am not selling my babys once I mastered them.

Nah, cosmetic items are primarily how F2P games make money. Now what they could do is make the unlock cost MC, then to repaint a mech it costs CBills.
