I dont want to show of, with the next screenshot, just wanted to say to people who ask "why should we buy commando over janner?"

Thats why:
Posted Image

Yes, it has low armor, but...
commando-2D is also:
+ small in size
+ fast
+ manuvarable
+ x3 launcher hardpoints (streaks fitted)

This screenshot is not a single battle. I do get to the first place in battle in dmg stats.
Just be:
+careful
+scout for team
+use combat awerness (when teammate fights vs enemy -> go behind enemy and score a kill in the back)
+ be carefull not to attack 1v1 vs heavy streak fitted enemies

P.S. I play solo, not pre-made group.
So, - do buy this mech - its a lot of fun IMHO.

P.P.S. sorry for my english as its not my native! GL and HF

Wow thats impressive!

Would be 2x as impressive if you used lasers or dumbfire srms but still.

No amount of streak damage would impress me.

How the hell did you get that much damage on a Commando!
Wow man. I have never see that much damage in my LRM cat. :D

Good job!

I'm sure there is a good commando variant, my issue is when I have to play 2 other lesser variants in order to master the one I want.

Nice scores. This just shows how terribad the other pug team was in that they could not even kill a Commando. For any team to allow any light to run around the entire match racking up even 500+ damage just illustrates how the majority of players in pugs have zero situational awareness or and little to no skill in focus firing or target prioritization.

And this is how out of control lights can get if no one on your team carries streaks...

Note that his teammates were pretty bad too, with one doing 330 damage, one doing 101, and the rest under 100. For a single player to rack up that much damage with any weapon or mech, you need your teammates to be bad (so they don't kill things before you get there), and you need some mediocre opponents who shoot at your teammates first.

1001 would because that means he's found a way to fit 5 tons of ammo on a commando.

If it was a Jenner you would have killed entire enemy team with over 4000 damage

Probably lagshielded and enemy had ballistic weapons. It is a freak result. Interesting, but a reflection on net code more than anything. It's like if a Jenner pilot got 6 kills in a game, would it be a big deal? Not really, I shoot at them, see a hit, hear a clang from my AC20, and they just run off, nothing flashing on their damage etc.

Serious post: I saw Jenners break 1,000 regularly before the streak buff, and after the streak nerf the 2D will be a useless variant just like all the others.

Also, I should say that the the 2D is currently inferior to a Jenner that can pack 2 SSRMs and 4 lasers. Every time I fight one that isn't a noob, I end up the loser in that exchange. Heck, even fights where I start off by firing 5 volleys into them before they turn on me I ultimately end up losing. ECM will probably help there.

My highest ever number of kills actually comes from the 3A. In the first game where I replaced my very terrible fittings (LRM-5 + LRM-15 or 2x ER PPC) with a sensible 2xSSRM 2xML I got 6 kills. (Of course that made me cocky and I got 0 the next two times, then I went to bed.)

The problem with the commando is that you can put up impressive numbers once in awhile, but the other side has to be full of noobs or at least not have lots of streaks.

2 volleys from a streak cat will end you, one will ruin your day enough to where other non-streak weapons can finish you easily. A fellow 2-D can end you in 4-6 volleys (I know, I always target other commandos first for easy kills). A lucky shot from a gausscat and you're done. When you're not playing against noobs the probability that someone gets lucky and messes you up increases dramatically. Other mechs are much more forgiving in this regard.

I feel like the most success I've had as a commando is hit and runs, 1v1s vs. non-streak equipped lights, chasing enemies that are heavily damaged and attempting to flee. Running through the enemy barely able to squeeze off a shot because I'm fleeing for my life is also technically a success if it ties up their big long-range mechs for a minute while ours close in on them but that one doesn't show up on the board and requires that you not be grouped with PUGs who can't take advantage of the opening.

I think this goes to show that people should play what they like- I've seen Dragons and Commandos rip mechs apart.

Implying they won't get ECM.
