This is Mechwarrior bro, you gotta say "Oh and my farts can level a city block."

I play by asking myself the question: "what works?"

And then you need to tack on to the end: "And how do I make it fit my playstyle?"

One thing I'm aexcited for are no more 1-2 shot kills.

I think the armor was increase in MW4 to counter the ability to 1-2 shot a mech. Though it still happens, but the point is a balance of sorts was done to appease those with less accuracy than others. I hope this game doesn't become one big nerf. I understand having competitive balance, what I don't understand is hand cuffing people that are just simply better than others at multiplayer gaming.

I'm not talking spamming RPG's at the enemy = the better player

I'm talking Guass rifles are deadly in the right hands, but because 80% of the player base can't aim them well, the Dev's decide to reduce their damage or accuracy. That in my opinion is garbage, but the good thing is that skill is skill and that cannot be nerf'd and those with it will find alternate ways to win.

I'd just wish the TT bible pushers like little jehova's witnesses would stop making all these threads demanding this or that because some source book says it's so. Remember it's a revision of the MW universe and thus will be decided in the hands of Dev's, not people like you and me. Let them finish their product, and quit pushing your requirements on the rest of us.

the closer they stick to TT rules, the better. My only other wish would have been for the game to start in 3020 or so instead of 3049. ;)

Culture shock? Because the player started with MW4 or 3 or 2, but not table top? HAHAHAHAHAHAH!
No offense, gramps, but no matter how many times you throw your 6 sided dice at the computer screen, I'll still be legging you from long range.

Most likely, the best players in MW:O will all be younger than you..and me for that matter...and may have never played other MW games. It'll be the teenage hormonal twitch that will be the end of us all.

And, ya know...plenty of games incorporate team-work and team balance. Those aren't revolutionary.

They've already doubled armor to up TTK, so we'll see how it plays out.

Agreed, 99% of the guys who want a Uziel in 3050 are from the MW4 crowd.

I don't understand... the fact that I want a fast medium mech with jump jets and a balanced weapons loadout makes me part of a specific crowd of people from MW4? Looking at Sarna makes me think a TT player would like the Uziel just as much as I do.

As for OP: Yeah it will be a culture shock for sure. But the smart MW4 players have been expecting that for months already. The [DHB] has been using MW4 to train and despite the fact that we're using variants constructed using the TRO configs from the TT game we're all well aware that it will be drastically different in MWO. Terrain, movement, lasers... and more will all be dramatically different.

Edit: I forgot to mention... I know I won't be getting a Uziel in MWO. It's future tech. I weep for the loss of my favorite mech but I accept it. I have been training in a Jenner and have fallen madly in love with it.

It's because the Uziel is from the dark age. But then again, all 'mechs from the dark age are generally more powerful than 'mechs from previous ages AFAICT-- it's overpowered next to, say, a Centurion because it's far higher tech than the Centurion unless we're talking about a CN9-D or something..

They'd have to try hard to make the Uziel look good though.

Ah. I can understand that I suppose. And what are you talking about? The Uziel is a sexy machine.

But yeah, in the absence of a Uziel I am learning to love Light 'mechs. I have a good feeling about the Jenner. I think it will be one tough 'mech in MWO.

Man, all the TT crazies are coming out of the woodwork acting like they've won.

If the shorter ranges work, cool. If they don't, you'll see your precious canon modified to fit gameplay concerns, as it should be. Either way the teams with league experience will rip you apart because they actually know how to play a game that doesn't involve dice.

Good luck out there.

This.

All you TT guys and your lack of online competitive play will have your arses handed to you by MW teams that have played in MW leagues dating back to MW2. So culture shock is on those TT guys. As for the OP, nice flame bate thread you created.
See you all on the battlefield.

Seyla!

I tend to think that people that play games based around going to war, seeing your enemies driven before you, destroying all their buildings and enjoying the lamentations of their women tend to draw lines and look for things to fight over.
